I’ve not tried painting my tree, but that’s a great idea!! Something I did last year to make new tinsel garland look old was trim it then tea or coffee soak, then in the oven for a little while (200). Curled it and aged it beautifully!! Well, I could hardly put my little tree in the oven, so out comes the hair dryer after the hair cut. The remaining tinsel curled up beautifully and took on a dull tone. Looks fantastic!! My husband thought I had lost my mind when he walked in on me blow drying my tree!! He just backed on out and closed the door.. hehe.

Lol. I wanted to give you my secret to use clippers instead of regular scissors if you ever wanted to make another one!!! Much faster! I love your idea of using a bit of chalk paint over the metallic paint! I will have to try that! Love the vintage look. Might try a few different colors. Beautiful tree!
