Yes, that is an issue. Smaller does work when it comes to cleaning.

You can take them to a laundry mat. Some large rugs mention that if it is possible to wash them in the bigger machines. I had one but never had the time to visit the laundry mat

I had one in my bedroom – they cannot be vacuumed with a conventional vacuum i.e. Shark, Dyson uprights. We have a dog so dog hair is a real problem – these rugs are fine if small, but not a large room-size.
