Pinch of Salt
¼tspCream of Tartar
1tspBaking Soda

1½cupcream cheeseroom temperature

4½cupspowedered sugar
1½tspalmond extract
Instructions
Cookie
Cream Crisco and sugar until fluffy.
Add egg and extract, and beat well.
Sift dry ingredients and add to the cream mixture.
Shape into ⅛ cup of dough into balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375° oven for 12-15 minutes.
Take out of the oven and place warm cookies on cookie rack.
Frosting
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, about 1/2 cup at a time, beating on low speed until fully incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Mix in almond extract until the frosting is smooth and extract is incorporated.
Spread frosting on each cookie to create a snowy base. Add your edible decorations while the icing is wet — tiny snowmen, santas, trees, or snowflakes are perfect!
For an extra creative flair, add small sprigs of rosemary to mimic miniature Christmas trees. The natural green adds a beautiful, realistic touch to your winter wonderland scene.
Once your decorations are set, attach the clear plastic half-ornament to the cookie. Hold it in place for a minute to secure it.
Notes
Baking Tip: Make a test cookie first to figure out the right amount of dough for each one. Remember, the cookie should be large enough to hold the globe ornament comfortably!
