Spring Flower Wreath DIY projects are such a fun way to bring the beauty of the season into your home, and this one is a little different from a traditional wreath. Instead of hanging upright, this DIY spring wreath centerpiece lies flat and features real blue eggshells that act as tiny vases for fresh flowers. Filled with white daisies and delicate baby’s breath, and nestled into soft Spanish moss, this unique spring floral wreath creates the prettiest natural centerpiece for a table, brunch, or Easter celebration.

I’ve always been fascinated by blue eggs. Their color is just so pretty and unexpected—it almost feels a little magical compared to the usual white or brown eggs we see all the time. When I started dreaming up this spring wreath project, I thought those blue eggs would add a fun, unique touch.

Then I realized I had the perfect material sitting right in our backyard. Our cypress and live oak trees are full of Spanish moss, and it makes the most beautiful base for the wreath. It has that soft, natural texture that reminds me of a cozy little nest, which makes the eggs feel right at home.

If you decide to make this wreath, try to find some blue eggs—you’ll really make the whole project feel extra special. And of course, don’t let the eggs go to waste… scrambled or fried sounds pretty perfect to me!

Why You’ll Love This Spring Wreath Centerpiece

  • It doubles as a wreath and a spring centerpiece
  • Uses real eggshells as mini flower vases
  • Perfect for Easter tables, spring brunch, or seasonal decorating
  • Simple materials and quick to make
  • Beautiful natural textures with Spanish moss and fresh flowers

Supplies for Spring Flower Wreath DIY

To make this eggshell flower wreath, you’ll need just a few supplies.

Blue Eggs
You’ll need about 9 eggs to create the small flower vases. The shells become tiny containers for your floral arrangement.

Wreath Form
A small wreath form works perfectly as the base for this spring craft.

Spanish Moss
Spanish moss adds beautiful texture and gives the wreath a soft, natural nest-like look.

Fresh Flowers
Small white daisies and baby’s breath work beautifully because their delicate stems fit perfectly inside the eggshell vases.

Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
This helps secure the moss and eggs to the wreath form.

Small Bowl
For collecting the egg contents after cracking the shells.

How to Make a Spring Flower Wreath DIY

This spring floral centerpiece comes together in a few easy steps.

A pale, cracked eggshell lies in the center of a nest made of light, straw-like material, with the top part of the shell broken off.

Step 1 – Prepare the Eggshell Vases

Gently crack each egg on the pointy end of the shell. Carefully peel away part of the shell to create a small opening at the top.

You want the opening large enough to hold flowers, but small enough that the egg still keeps its shape.

Empty the egg contents into a bowl.

Once the eggs are empty:

  • Rinse the shells carefully
  • Allow them to dry completely

These shells will become your tiny spring flower vases.

Step 2 – Cover the Wreath Form with Spanish Moss

Apply hot glue to sections of the wreath form and press the Spanish moss into the glue.

Continue around the entire wreath until the base is covered.

The moss creates a beautiful natural base that resembles a soft bird’s nest.

Step 3 – Attach the Eggshell Vases

Place the prepared eggshells on the wreath with the opening facing upward.

Space them evenly around the wreath.

Once you’re happy with the placement, add a small amount of hot glue to secure each egg to the wreath form.

Step 4 – Fill the Eggshell Vases with Water

Carefully pour a small amount of water into each eggshell.

This helps keep the flowers fresh and allows the eggshells to function as mini vases.

You can use faux or dried flowers, which eliminates the risk of water leaking from the shells.

Step 5 – Add the Spring Flowers

Trim the stems of the white daisies and baby’s breath so they are short enough to fit inside the eggshells.

Place a few stems into each egg vase.

Then, tuck extra sprigs of baby’s breath into the Spanish moss around the wreath to soften the arrangement and fill in the spaces.

Step 6 – Display Your Spring Floral Wreath

Once finished, place your Spring Flower Wreath DIY flat on your dining room table, kitchen island, or Easter table.

It makes a beautiful spring centerpiece and adds such a fresh seasonal touch to your home.

Tips for Making Eggshell Flower Vases

  • Crack eggs gently to prevent the shells from splitting.
  • Use flowers with small, delicate stems so they fit easily inside the eggs.
  • Keep the arrangement fresh by refilling the water daily.
  • If fresh flowers aren’t available, small faux flowers also work beautifully.
