If you’re like me, you probably have a lot of wreaths in storage. I must have a variety of wreaths for each season. I don’t usually buy them since I can’t always find the exact style for our home. I like to switch out the wreath on our front porch with the seasons. Did you know that in the South, most homes have wreaths on their front doors to welcome guests? What a wonderful, cozy tradition.
So, let’s start that tradition and make this pretty floral wreath.
Here Are Some Easy Wreath DIYs
Supplies You’ll Need For This Wreath
- Wreath Form
- Faux Flowers ( I focused on Box of Pink Flowers, Yellow Roses, and White Ranunculus)
- Wire Clippers
Directions to Make Your Flower Wreath
Step 1 – Gather Flowers
Place your flowers out and organize them by colors
Step 2 – Trim Stems
Trim the flowers off their long stems with your wire clippers. Leave about four to seven inches of stem below the blossom. Do this for all your flowers.
Step 3 – Attach Flowers to the Side
I attached my smaller pink flowers to the side of the wreath. So, if the wreath is viewed from the side, the flowers show, not the green foam wreath.
Step 4 – Attach Flowers
Attaching the flowers is easy. Insert the end of the flower stem right into the foam wreath form.
I started with my larger pink peony flowers first. Placing the bigger flowers first guarantees that they will create a balanced composition. I put four large flowers around the wreath form.
Then I placed the next biggest pink flowers.
Finally, I inserted the white and yellow flowers as accents.
Step 5 – Fill In Spaces
If your wreath has empty spaces, fill them with extra small flowers.
Step 6 – Add Greenery
I stripped some of the flower stems of their green leaves and added them for accents and movement. I always love a slightly loose and organic wreath to look realistic. So, place your greenery or other flowers so that they break the basic wreath shape.
Wreaths are an easy way to add color and beauty instantly to your home. I think of them as little decor cheats. Not only are they pretty, but they also emit a cozy warmth that breaks a cold, sterile wall or door. And I’m all about creating an inviting home for my family and friends.
This wreath is part of a wreath blog hop. Make sure to take a look at my friend’s wreaths below.
Happy crafting, and enjoy decorating your home!

The floral wreath is lovely, but quite an investment in flowers. As much as I love it, I’m not confident enough in my wreath-making skills to spend that much money on something that’s not a sure thing.
