our serene master bathroom
background ~
our master bathroom was added on to the house by the previous owner. it is a nice spacious area that definitely has a serene atmosphere. i think that the light blue wall color has a calming element to it. for those of you that are interested, the color is restoration hardware’s, silver sage. so i hope you enjoy viewing our master bathroom and just in case you missed my kitchen tour and you want to see it, here is the link: kitchen tour
~ a funny note about the nester ~
i like to take really, really hot and long showers! now with our drought in california,
i have cut my shower time in half, so that i conserve water. it’s my way of doing my little
part in our state’s water crisis.
color combination ~ the colors in our bathroom are pretty unusual, but i like it. i feel that the dark bronze accessories ground everything.
storage ~ i love this little bank of drawers. unfortunately, i don’t sit here since it is right in the pathway to the bathroom. but i really should get a little nice stool to tuck under the counter. oh gosh, another mission to obsess about. :o)
bathtub alongside a fireplace! ~ a fireplace in a bathroom is luxurious feature to have. since moving in, we still don’t understand how to work the jets on this tub. luckily, we have an outdoor jacuzzi that we use for really cold nights.
mint julep vase ~ i bought mine at our local grocery store, kind of strange that they carried such a nice vase. i did find one on amazon that looks amazing, i just may have to buy this one since it looks so beautiful! here is the link: vase
walk-in shower and robes ~ this is such a great shower. we hang our water absorbing robes right nearby! the only thing we would like to add to this room, is an indoor wall heater. on our house in seattle, our contractor built one in and gosh, we loved it so much! maybe this winter we can have one installed!
do you have these hotel type robes? we just love them, we also use them for our pool activities. they are so warm and absorbent. definitely if you have a gift a loved one wants to give you, put this robe on your list! :o) here is the link on amazon: robe
built in shelf ~ i just love this very useful built in shelf. we had a nice size one in our house in seattle and it was such a nice feature. the tiles are fun, some of them have an iridescent quality, which is fun.
lighting fixtures ~ i do love the bronze look with the amber. it appears that the predominant color in my house is the amber. well it is a happy color!
i love that some of you have commented and communicated with me. i love hearing from you, so let me know if there is anything you would like to see on the blog! more recipes? more decorating? more organizing? let me know…
cheers,
janine

You have such a nice bathroom, Janine! Love, love, love the dark bronze accessories and a fireplace too? Sweet! 🙂 I still can't believe you got that vase at Safeway! We used to have Safeway stores here years ago, but not anymore. Anyway, beautiful bathroom!

Oh my goodness Lisa, you are so, so sweet! Thanks so much for hopping over to my blog and also commenting! I do love our bathroom, it is such a relaxing room. I recently put a bouquet of roses in the bathroom and it is just heavenly to smell. And isn't it crazy that I found the vase at Safeway?! They have 2 different sizes. It seems like everyone loves it when I share it in a photo! Too funny! Have a wonderful day!
