I can’t contain myself today since I’m sharing with you, how to make a beautiful felt leaf wreath for fall.
I’m a bit obsessed with wreaths these days, and you see I recently created a flower felt wreath.
Hello there!
But, oh my goodness, where are my manners! If you are here from Krista’s Happy Housie’s, Seasonal Simplicity Fall Tour, a big hello is in order. I’m Janine, and I’m delighted that you’re here.
Well, let’s get this fall wreath party started!
But first I have a little confession.
Our front door has been naked all summer long.
Yup, you heard it right, my front porch has been empty since Christmas. I even skipped spring.
I’m not sure how this happened, well maybe summer was a bit busy with my home tours?
Whatever the reason, it is now time to snazzy up my porch and door.
So, now that I had a mission, I perused Pinterest.
Well, I did find a fall wreath and instantly fell in love with a felt project.
Ok, I was mesmerized.
I just had to make this felt wreath for fall!
All I could think of is this wreath.
The autumn colors are so vibrant and gorgeous, and this reminds me how most trees show off in autumn and spring.
I remember when we lived in Vermont how gorgeous the autumn maple leaf trees were the first week in October.
The rolling hills of New England reminded me of a boxful of Crayola crayons. So bright and brilliant.
Well enough about me, I’m sure you are ready to start this project. So, let’s get crafting.

Supplies:
1 metal hoop wreath
26 gauge copper craft wire
plus a white felt (they have white felt at Joann Fabric stores)
leaf pattern (I sketched this template by hand, please excuse the rough design)
scissors
glue gun and glue sticks
Hang in there, here are more instructions on how to make a beautiful felt leaf wreath for fall.
Instructions:
1. Download the leaf template, print and cut out the leaf.
2. Fold the felt lengthwise, so it is doubled over.
3. Place the leaf pattern on the felt. If you position the pattern at an angle, you should cut out 22 leaves per felt sheet.
4. I cut 22 leaves of each of the following colors: cranberry, cream, oatmeal, caramel, pumpkin, variegated yellow, and variegated light brown.
5. Now, cut your wire into roughly 5-inch pieces. If you have seven colors of leaves, you will need to cut 77 5-inch wires.
6. Take two leaves of the same color and hot glue one to each end of your wire. You do this by placing a dot of hot glue on the leaf and place the wire in it. Then pinch the side of the leaf, so it looks like the photo above.
7. Once you have all your leaves attached to wires, you are now ready to attach them to your metal wreath hoop.
8. I started with one color and wrapped all the pair of leaves around the hoop.
To wrap the leaves, attach them by wrapping them around the hoop twice as shown in the above photo.
9. Next, with the two leaves, crisscross the wires and lie the leaves onto the hoop.
10. Now you’ve placed your first color of leaves on the hoop. Next, grab your second color of leaves and wrap them in between your first color.
11. Keep adding the leaves until you have them all on your hoop.
12. Shape the leaves and then place a pretty ribbon on the top of your wreath.

So, fall decorating is finally in full swing for me. I recently made another book leaf fall garland, and I have it hanging on our front door. This timeless garland is the perfect decor to accompany my wreath!
