Fall Fabric Pumpkins

Fall Fabric Pumpkins are one of the coziest ways to welcome the season, and they’re becoming a staple for autumn decor. Fabric pumpkins are one of my favorite ways to bring soft texture and warm fall color into a room. I love mixing a few different fabric pumpkins with the fall decor I already own. They look pretty tucked into a basket, grouped on a coffee table, added to a mantel, or simply placed on a bookshelf alongside candles and seasonal greenery. I’ve gathered some of my favorite fabric pumpkins in a variety of colors and styles. Whether you decorate with traditional autumn colors or prefer a softer neutral palette, hopefully you’ll find a few here that fit right into your home.

There are so many versions of fabric pumpkins available that it’s easy to find something that works with your decorating style.

I tend to look for pumpkins with interesting textures and realistic little details, like natural-looking stems, subtle ribbing, and fabrics that don’t feel overly shiny or stiff.

And don’t feel like all your pumpkins need to match. I actually think they look prettier when the colors, sizes, and textures are slightly different.

How to Decorate with Fabric Pumpkins

One reason I keep coming back to fabric pumpkins is how easy they are to move around the house. A pumpkin that starts the season on my coffee table might end up on a bookshelf or dining table a few weeks later.

You also don’t need very many to make a pretty display.

Create a Coffee Table Display

Place a few fabric pumpkins in a shallow bowl or tray and add a candle, small vase, or a few fall branches. Mixing pumpkin sizes keeps the arrangement from looking too symmetrical.

Tuck Them into Baskets

This might be one of the easiest ways to decorate with them. Fill a woven basket with several soft pumpkins and let a few sit at different angles.

You can also add a folded throw blanket underneath them to give the basket a little extra height.

Add Fabric Pumpkins to a Mantel

Rather than lining up identical pumpkins across the mantel, try creating small groupings. Mix different sizes and leave some open space between them.

A few branches, candlesticks, or pieces of greenery can help connect everything.

Decorate Bookshelves and Side Tables

Small fabric pumpkins are perfect for those little areas that need just a touch of fall.

Place one on top of a stack of books or tuck a small pumpkin next to a vase or candle. It’s an easy way to carry your fall decorations throughout the room without adding a lot of clutter.

How to Choose Fabric Pumpkins for Your Home

Before buying a bunch of pumpkins, take a quick look at the colors already in your room. You don’t necessarily need to match them exactly, but choosing a few colors that complement your existing decor will make everything feel more natural.

Choose a Simple Color Palette

I usually like working with about three or four main colors. You could choose orange, rust, cream, and brown for a traditional fall palette, or cream, beige, olive, and soft brown for something more neutral.

Then let the textures provide the variety.

Mix Different Sizes

A collection is much more interesting when the pumpkins aren’t all the same size.

Start with one or two larger pumpkins and surround them with medium and smaller ones. Tiny pumpkins are especially helpful for filling little gaps in a basket or tabletop arrangement.

Look for Different Textures

This is where fabric pumpkins really shine.

That mixture of texture is what makes a simple grouping feel cozy and collected rather than like you bought everything as one set.

Can You Mix Fabric Pumpkins with Real Pumpkins?

Absolutely! I actually love the combination.

Real pumpkins bring in those wonderful imperfect shapes and natural colors, while fabric pumpkins add softness and texture.

You can also mix in faux pumpkins that you already own. There’s no rule that says everything in your fall display has to be made from the same material.

When Should You Decorate with Fabric Pumpkins?

I usually think of fabric pumpkins as decor that can carry you through the entire fall season.

Bring them out in September with simple fall leaves and warm colors. As Halloween gets closer, add a few black pumpkins or other Halloween touches. Then in November, remove the Halloween pieces and pair your pumpkins with Thanksgiving decor.

That’s one of the reasons I like investing in fall pieces that aren’t overly themed. You get much more time to enjoy them.

Fabric Pumpkins Make Fall Decorating Easy

I don’t think fall decorating has to mean changing every corner of the house. Sometimes adding a few fabric pumpkins, a cozy throw, some seasonal branches, and a candle is enough to make a room feel ready for autumn.

Start with the colors you already love and mix in a few different textures and sizes!
