Easy pumpkin crafts are one of my favorite ways to decorate for fall, especially since there are so many creative things you can do with pumpkins besides carving them. Over the years, I’ve made quite a few pumpkin projects, from painted pumpkins and floral pumpkin centerpieces to fabric pumpkins, pumpkin vases, and some unexpected DIY ideas.

I gathered some of my favorite pumpkin crafts in one place so you can easily find a project that inspires you. Many of these are simple enough to make in an afternoon, and there are plenty of pumpkin crafts for adults that make pretty decorations for your home throughout the fall season.

You’ll find lots of different styles here, including pumpkin decorating ideas, painted pumpkins, no-carve projects, and a few unique pumpkin crafts you may not have tried before. Whether you decorate with traditional orange pumpkins or prefer white, black, and neutral colors, there are plenty of ideas to choose from.

A collage of four easy pumpkin crafts: one adorned with succulents and wheat, a black pumpkin with white polka dots, a peach one embellished with orange flowers, and a glittery white pumpkin. They're set against a soft, warm background.

Easy Pumpkin Craft Ideas for Fall

Pumpkin crafts are such an easy way to add a little fall decor to your home. I especially love projects that use real or faux pumpkins since you can paint them, add flowers, cover them with fabric, or completely transform them into something unexpected.

Many of the ideas I’m sharing below are pumpkin crafts for adults that are easy to make and don’t require a long list of supplies. You’ll find everything from painted and decorated pumpkins to pretty pumpkin centerpieces and no-carve ideas.

And don’t feel like you have to stick with traditional orange pumpkins! I love decorating white pumpkins and using softer fall colors, especially when I want a project to blend in with the rest of my home decor.

Let’s take a look at some of my favorite easy pumpkin craft ideas for fall.

Why Pumpkin Crafts Are So Easy and Fun to Make

One reason I love pumpkin crafts is that you can usually make something pretty with just a few supplies. A little paint, ribbon, fabric, flowers, or even something you already have around the house can completely change the look of a pumpkin.

Faux pumpkins are especially fun to work with since you can bring them out year after year. And if you love decorating with real pumpkins, there are plenty of no-carve ideas that will still last throughout the fall season.

These projects can be as simple or creative as you like. Once they’re finished, use your pumpkins on a table, mantel, bookshelf, or front porch for an easy touch of fall.

Decorating With Pumpkins for Fall

Once you’ve made your pumpkins, they’re so easy to work into your fall decor. I like mixing handmade pumpkins with seasonal flowers, pretty fall leaves, candles, and other natural elements to make everything feel a little more collected.

Try grouping a few pumpkins on a dining or coffee table, adding one to a bookshelf, or using several on your front porch. Even one unique pumpkin craft can add a fun handmade touch to your fall decorations.

Easy DIY Pumpkin Crafts and Decorating Ideas

Here are some of my favorite pumpkin projects I’ve made over the years, from pretty floral pumpkins and painted designs to creative no-carve pumpkin decorating ideas.

White and orange pumpkin vase filled with fresh pink and white flowers

Flower Pumpkin Centerpiece DIY

I stacked three pumpkins and filled them with fresh flowers to create this colorful fall centerpiece. I love the combination of pumpkins and seasonal blooms, and it makes such a pretty statement for a fall table or gathering.

A pumpkin serves as an easy craft vase, filled with orange and peach flowers like roses and dahlias. Autumn leaves and buds complete the arrangement, elegantly displayed on a white tray. Subtle fall decorations grace the blurred background, enhancing the cozy autumnal vibe.

Pumpkin Vase for Flowers

I love how a simple white pumpkin can become such a pretty fall centerpiece! I filled this one with fresh flowers for an easy no-carve pumpkin decoration that looks beautiful on a table throughout the fall season.

White pumpkin decorated with gold letters spelling BOO

Letters on a Pumpkin (Easy No Carve)

This no-carve pumpkin idea is such a fun way to decorate for Halloween! I painted small magnetic alphabet letters gold and attached them to a white pumpkin to spell “BOO.” It’s an easy project that you can customize with different words, colors, or pumpkin styles.

Gray painted pumpkin decorated with white fingerprint ghosts

Ghost Painted Pumpkin for Kids

These ghost-painted pumpkins are such a cute Halloween project! I painted the pumpkins dark gray and added tiny white fingerprint ghosts with funny little faces. It’s an easy no-carve pumpkin idea that kids can help make, and the finished pumpkins look adorable displayed for Halloween.

A white pumpkin is used as a vase, filled with pink and yellow dried flowers—a charming example of white pumpkin crafts. More white pumpkins and flower arrangements are blurred in the background on a light surface.

Pumpkin with Flowers

I decorated this white pumpkin with dried flowers and berries for a quick no-carve fall project. I love using pinks, creams, and softer autumn colors, but you can easily change the flowers to coordinate with your own fall decor. It only takes a few minutes to put together and makes such a pretty centerpiece.

White pumpkin decorated with woodland temporary tattoos

Pumpkin Decorating Ideas Without Carving (Temporary Tattoos)

These little white pumpkins decorated with woodland animal temporary tattoos are one of my easiest no-carve pumpkin projects! The tattoos take just minutes to apply, and I love how they turn a plain pumpkin into something that looks hand-painted. Try different tattoo designs to create a completely different look for your fall decor.

DIY cement pumpkin candleholders with fall leaves

Cement Pumpkins DIY (with candleholders)

These DIY cement pumpkins are such a fun way to add a little handmade fall decor to your home. I love the natural look of the cement, and turning some of the pumpkins into candleholders makes them especially pretty displayed on a fall table.

Carved pumpkin fairy house with miniature door, windows, stairs, and fall decorations

Pumpkin Fairy House

This Pumpkin Fairy House is one of my more whimsical pumpkin projects! I carved a real pumpkin and added handmade doors, windows, tiny stairs, and miniature fall decorations to create a little fairy house. You can even save the clay pieces and use them again on a new pumpkin next year.

White pumpkin decorated with succulents, moss, and natural fall accents

DIY Pumpkin Succulent Planter

Inspired by a beautiful succulent pumpkin I spotted at Terrain, I created my own DIY Pumpkin Succulent Planter for our fall table. I love the combination of a white pumpkin, succulents, moss, and natural accents—and best of all, you don’t have to carve the pumpkin!

A top-down view of a table centerpiece featuring small white pumpkins and succulents on a round moss base. Surrounding the arrangement are additional white pumpkins and flowers, with a checkered cloth visible at the bottom.

Succulent Pumpkins DIY

This succulent pumpkin is another fun way to combine pumpkins and greenery for fall. I covered the top of a fresh pumpkin with moss, succulents, dried flowers, pinecones, and other natural accents without cutting into the pumpkin. Once fall is over, you can even remove the succulents and replant them in your garden.

White faux pumpkin covered in chunky wool

How to Make a Wool Pumpkin

These cozy wool pumpkins are one of my favorite ways to transform an inexpensive faux pumpkin. I covered each pumpkin with chunky wool and finished it with a real pumpkin stem for a soft, natural look. They only require a few supplies and look so pretty mixed in with other fall decorations.

10 Essential Pumpkin Carving Tips and Tricks

If you’re planning to carve pumpkins this fall, my friend Marci shares some of her best pumpkin carving tips and tricks in this helpful guide. She has years of experience carving pumpkins and shares simple techniques that can make the whole process easier and help you get better results.

Mini white pumpkins decorated with fine glitter

How to Make Glitter Pumpkins

These glitter pumpkins are surprisingly easy to make and add just the right amount of sparkle to fall decor. I used mini white pumpkins, fine white glitter, felt leaves, and ribbon to create them. They’re a quick no-carve pumpkin craft that looks especially pretty grouped together on a fall table.

Glowing jack-o'-lantern hanging overhead for a floating pumpkin Halloween display

Floating Pumpkins (Harry Potter Style)

These floating pumpkins are such a fun way to decorate your front porch for Halloween! Inspired by the floating pumpkins in Harry Potter, I hung battery-operated faux pumpkins with fishing line to make them appear as though they’re floating overhead. You can use this idea on a covered porch or bring it indoors for a magical Halloween display.

A rustic wooden bowl holds a white candle topped with wax decorations shaped like pastel leaves and pumpkins. Dried flowers and more wax leaf shapes are scattered around on a white surface.

Dough Bowl Candle DIY

I made the tiny pumpkins and fall leaves in this dough bowl candle out of colored candle wax using silicone molds. I love how the little wax shapes decorate the top of the candle and turn a simple candle-making project into something special for fall. The soft colors are especially pretty for a more neutral autumn look.

More Easy Pumpkin Crafts From My Friends

I also asked a couple of my blogging friends to share some of their favorite pumpkin projects. These creative ideas are another fun way to decorate pumpkins and add a handmade touch to your fall decor.

Pumpkin vase filled with orange and pink dahlias on a sunlit fall table

A Personal Note from Janine

Fall always makes me think of Vermont. My mother-in-law lives there, and whenever we visit during autumn, I come home with so many ideas for decorating and crafting.

There’s a beautiful dirt road near her house that we love to drive when the leaves are changing, and the little general stores are usually filled with pumpkins and seasonal decorations. I also love visiting the small shops that carry handmade pieces from local artisans. There’s inspiration everywhere!

Many of the pumpkin projects I’ve shared over the years came from my love of this time of year. I hope you found a few ideas here that inspire you to pull out your craft supplies and make something special for your own home this fall.
