Did you know that it officially turned Fall the other day? Our weather here in Northern California has been a little warm these days and so Marci and I have decorated our homes despite the heat. Well, we thought we would let you see what we have been busy with and let you view our homes and visit our friends homes as well. Over on the app, Instagram we have collaborated with a bunch of blogging friends. Our goal is to inspire others to decorate and share their fall home decor. We would like to introduce you to our Instagram friends and we will be including a few photos from their entryway posts and providing links to their blogs as well. We are excited to share such a wide variety of homes, with a nice collection of inspirations.

~ A Note About the Nester ~
I love fall acorns, but the ones in our neighborhood are more of the long and skinny ones.
There is a tree nearby that has the pretty acorns like the ones pictured above.
Unfortunately, this tree is located in the only intersection of our tiny town.
I still haven’t gotten up the nerve to stand there and pick them
for fear of all my friends noticing me!

Let’s begin with my porch. I brought out all my planters and bird houses and bought a few chrysanthemums and pumpkins.  Right now our fall chrysanthemums are everywhere in the stores and the prices are so reasonable. They make great statements and add such nice color quickly.

I bought this garland at Michael’s Crafts and added the burlap ribbon. I felt it needed to be softened up a little, and the ribbon was the perfect solution and rustic accent.

Here is Marci’s beautiful home. She is my awesome blogging partner and friend.

Marci is incredibly talented and I adore how she decorated her front porch! She is one busy mother and blogger, so I’m amazed how creative and cute her fall decor came out. Marci recently said that she wanted to donate her black lanterns (here is a link: Lanterns) and I persuaded her to hold onto them. They are the perfect accent to her gorgeous perfectly shaped orange pumpkins. Don’t you love how the blue door is complimented by the orange pumpkins? By the way, you can buy the wreaths from this link: Forsythia Wreaths

Let me introduce to you,
I Don’t Know How She Does It

Gloribell is the master of light and beauty. She makes her home in Miami, Florida. I feel that if we lived near each other, I’m certain we would hang out at each other’s houses! Her neutral home is such a perfect backdrop for every season, I’m always surprised by her design style and I’m a big fan of hers.

Next, let me introduce to you,
Oscar Bravo Home

Oscar is a gifted designer from San Diego. He always amazes me with his bold use of colors that are just so striking! He loves to bring outdoor items into his home to use with his furnishings. He and I share a love for the color yellow! Both our homes have touches of gold in our rooms.

Let’s stop in at,
Craftberry Bush
Lucy has a casual and gorgeous style of decorating. I enjoy looking at all her photos and gleaning ideas from every nook and cranny. She has a great eye for detail and styles her home so well. She is also a talented artist and sells her artwork as well as provides free printables from her blog.
One of our friends over on Instagram is our next stop. Let me introduce,
Twelve on Main
Sara lives in a small town just outside of Bryce Canyon National Park and doesn’t her gorgeous home have a wonderful country look? She says that most days you’ll find her working on her home, either painting, building, or doing a DIY project. She is married to a very supportive husband who encouraged her to start a blog. Sara is also a mother of four beautiful children and a German Shepard dog name, Bruin.

Next stop,
Crazy Chic Design
Amy is one of the first bloggers that I had the pleasure of meeting in person. She is such a caring and thoughtful friend who can turn any room into a fabulous space. She lives in Northern California and has three little ones. She miraculously juggles a part-time job, motherhood, and blogging.

Next on our tour,
Tone on Tone
My great friend, Loi from Tone on Tone has an impeccable style. Every photo is stunning and his design is so light and fresh. Of course, we all marvel at how beautiful his home in Washington D.C. is. He has another in Maine which is fabulous too! If you visit his blog you can also preview the gorgeous furniture he sells in his shop.

And our winner of the Entry hashtag campaign,
Citrine Living

Tamara is the winner of our Fall Entryway contest on Instagram. Her front entry is beautiful and her door and wreath make such a big statement. She is the sweetest person and I’m so glad to have connected with her on Instagram.  Her style has an abundance of inspiration.

I would like to introduce to you my great friend and fellow Californian,
Home and Fabulous

Liz is super talented and everything she decorates is glamorous like her. In addition to blogging and designing, she also has an Etsy shop where she sells her gorgeous handmade pillows. If you have a chance to visit her blog you will find it packed full of great interior design posts.

This wraps up the tour of fall entryways. Happy autumn decorating! Make sure you buy some pumpkins, in fact, visit a pumpkin patch if you can. Take a trip to your local craft store and begin decorating your home. It is nice to change things up for the seasons and make your surroundings feel festive and inviting. What is your favorite season? Leave a comment, we would love to hear from you.

Cheers,

Autumn

autumn is a wonderful time of the year. the days are getting colder and the leaves are turning color and we are spending more time indoors. creating a warm and cozy space inside our homes is my goal during this time of year. truthfully, decorating for the fall doesn’t have to be a big commitment, you can fluff up your home by just buying a few pumpkins and bringing in beautiful fall branches with colorful leaves. but, if you have the time and inspiration to decorate, i like to clear out a space and just build fresh with all your seasonal decor. taking out your current decor, starts you with a clean slate, and allows you to think out of your decorating comfort zone. you will begin to create things you never knew you could. here are a few of the projects i have been working on around our house.

~ a funny note about the nester ~
when our two children were little and we visited a local pumpkin patch. our older whined that he couldn’t move our wagon full of pumpkins. so, our younger child, grabbed a hold of the handle and tried to move the wagon only to fall on her bottom. this didn’t stop her, she immediately stood up and took the handle again and quickly moved the very heavy wagon! she’s got gumption!
printing on pumpkins ~ i have a blog post where i show how to print on a faux pumpkin. it is nice to have these pumpkins in your fall supplies. here is the link: pumpkin project
autumn banner ~ here is the instructions link on how to make this project: autumn banner
leaves ~ these branches are from our yard. i love how some of them dried green!
foliage ~ these branches were from our pile of yard debris. i must admit that these branches were cut in our spring pruning. it definitely is interesting that the leaves haven’t fallen off, and that maybe due to the fact that the branches were cut green? if you cut branches and the leaves start dropping off, go with it. enjoy the few days or weeks of beautiful fall leaves inside your home!
this is my fall table decor. i basically decorated with white and brown items. by limiting my color palette, it is created a simple and elegant table. i was wanting a more natural and quiet look. here is the link to the blog post: fall decorating ideas  i hope i have inspired you to decorate your home for the fall. i would love to hear about your decorating tricks, so leave a comment. thanks so much for dropping by for a visit!
cheers,

janine

Hi Lisa ~ thanks so much for stopping by! You're so sweet!! The spiders kind of creep out my teenage kids! ๐Ÿ™‚ I think I'm ready for Fall and Halloween. My daughter is having a birthday party in October, so I wanted to have the house ready for that, it was a nice motivation! Thanks so much for your nice comments!
