A DIY Flower Garland is an easy and beautiful way to add charm to any room. This specific garland is made from paper flowers and a bay leaf base! It’s a fun, creative project suitable for any season, whether you want bright blooms for spring or warm tones for fall. You can drape it across a mantel, use it as a table runner, or display it over a shelf for a cozy touch. With just a few basic supplies—crepe paper flowers and some string—you can create this homemade floral garland that looks effortlessly beautiful and lasts a long time.

I’m obsessed with anything that involves paper flowers, and these pre-made ones are absolutely stunning. The best part? You get that gorgeous handcrafted look without having to make them yourself!

This spring, I wanted the look of handmade paper flowers without the extra work, so I decided to buy some—and I was so impressed! They’re absolutely beautiful, and the best part is that they save so much time on a busy schedule. You still get that charming, handcrafted feel without all the effort.

This garland is made with those pretty paper flowers, but I also found a few ready-made options you can mix in. Just piece them together, and you’ll have a lovely spring or summer garland in no time!

Let’s check out these two projects! The first is a stunning garland, to which I added a touch of gold by spraying the bay leaves—such an easy way to elevate the look. How to Make a Flower Garland

Step 1 – Buy or Make a Leaf Garland

You can refer to the DIY Fall Garland to make my bay leaf garland, or you can buy an artificial one here.

Step 2 – Crepe Paper Flowers

The pre-made paper flowers arrive bundled up, so you’ll need to gently open them up, starting with the outer petals and then working your way to the inner ones. To shape them, place your fingers on the outer edges of the petals and carefully pull the crepe paper outward—this helps create a natural, cup-like petal shape. The flowers come with double-sided tape, but we won’t be using it for this project. Instead, wrap a piece of twine around the base of each flower, tie a secure knot, and then attach it to the bay leaf garland.

Step 3 – Placement of Flowers

How you arrange the flowers on your garland is entirely up to you! I spaced mine out evenly for a symmetrical look, but feel free to place them however you like. If you have a few extras, try attaching them to the wall for an extra decorative touch!
