Easy snowman cheeseball recipe for a charcuterie board

I’m excited to share with you this super cute cheeseball snowman that has been all the rage on social media lately. I put my spin on it by adding some adorable mittens and a top hat to make it stand out even more.

HOW TO MAKE SNOWMAN OUT OF CREAM CHEESE

So, I wanted to share a fun tip with you. Apparently, some people are using Boursin cheeseballs to make snowmen. It’s a pretty cool idea that can save you some time and effort. Hope you find it useful!

And since I have yet to try those pre-made cheeses, I decided to make my own instead!

No worries, my friend! This recipe is super easy to make. Trust me, there’s nothing better than homemade food.

INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED FOR THIS EASY SNOWMAN CHEESEBALL RECIPE

  • Cream Cheese: The creamy texture and mild taste of cream cheese create the perfect, smooth body for our snowman.
  • Parmesan Cheese: This adds a savory depth and a slightly granular texture, enhancing the overall flavor profile.
  • Mozzarella: Its melt-in-your-mouth quality contributes to the snowman’s irresistibly soft and gooey interior.
  • Granulated California Garlic: This infuses a gentle, aromatic essence, giving the cheeseball a hint of sophistication.
  • Salt: A touch of salt is crucial for bringing out the rich flavors of the cheeses and garlic.
  • Provolone for the mittens and hat: Provolone’s flexibility and mild taste make it ideal for crafting adorable mittens and a hat, adding a playful touch to the snowman.
  • Pretzels for the arms: Pretzels provide a crunchy contrast to the creamy cheeseball and form whimsical arms for our edible snowman creation.
  • Carrot: A bright orange carrot adds a splash of color, serving as the perfect pointed nose for our cheeseball snowman, bringing a touch of classic winter charm.
  • Peppercorns: Small, round peppercorns are ideal for creating the snowman’s eyes, buttons, and mouth, adding a hint of rustic texture and contrast against the creamy cheese.
  • Rosemary Sprig: A fragrant rosemary sprig acts as a chic and aromatic accent to the snowman’s hat, infusing a hint of greenery and herbal elegance.
  • Dried Cranberry Pieces: Dainty pieces of dried cranberry mimic small berries, adorning the snowman’s hat with a pop of deep red, enhancing the festive appeal.

Cheese Mittens

Take your pretzel stick and place it on a piece of paper. Outline a mitten shape with a pencil on one end of the pretzel. Cut out the mitten and set the pattern on a slice of provolone cheese. Cut it out with a small knife. Cut out two cheese mittens. Flip the one mitten over so that the thumbs of each hand are facing into the body like our bodies.

Place a dab of cream cheese on the end of the pretzel and attach the cheese mitten.

Cheese Hat

Brim: Take a small lid from a jar and place it on your snowman’s head to check the size. Place the circle on a slice of provolone cheese and cut out around the lid to create the brim of a hat.

Top of the Hat:

Hat’s Body: Cut a 1-inch wide strip of cheese. Next, circle it around to create a round tube shape. Attach the ends with a dab of parmesan cheese for glue. Hold into place and pinch slightly.

Building the Hat: Place some cream cheese on the edge of the hat and place it in the middle of the brim. Let them sit in place until they are set.

Step 5 – Building the Snowman

Take balls out of the refrigerator and place two peppercorns for the eyes. Next, take a small piece of a carrot for the nose and place it on the face. Then, place about 6 peppercorns in a smile design under the nose.

Take the snowballs and place them on top of each other. The biggest ball is on the bottom, the medium-sized ball is in the middle, and the top is the smallest.

Place the snowman in the middle of a round charcuterie board.

Place the hat on top of the snowman and add a few sprigs of rosemary and dried cranberry parts. I did add a little round red candy to look like a berry.

Add pretzel arms to your cheeseball snowman.

Create a Charcuterie Board

  • I place white cheese chunks around the snowman so it looks like he is surrounded by snowballs.
  • I added sprigs of rosemary for greenery. And I lined the cheese with red cherry tomatoes to play off the festive red and white holiday colors.
  • Add your favorite foods to the board.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I make it ahead of time?

Since the cream cheese tends to soften place it in the refigerator to chill. But, I wouldn’t make it too far ahead of time. It’s best fresh and not droopy.

Should I refrigerate the snowman?

Yes, before serving and after serving place it in the fridge. Cover it with plastic.

Can I add more spices and herbs?

Yes, add away!

Can I use Boursin Cheese?

Quite a few blogger’s recipe calls for Boursin cheese and you can use them but it’s not necessary. Follow my recipe and add other spices that you prefer.
