Walmart Christmas Greenery

Boutique of the Week

Walmart Christmas Greenery is one of my favorite places to start when I’m decorating for the holidays. There are so many pretty wreaths, garlands, trees, and other greenery to choose from, and I love finding pieces that look beautiful without spending a fortune.

Every Christmas, I use greenery throughout our home because it’s such an easy way to make a room feel festive. A simple wreath on a door, garland draped across a mantel, or a few branches tucked into a vase can completely change a space.

For this collection, I picked out some of my favorite Walmart Christmas greenery, including classic pine, flocked styles, pre-lit pieces, and a few options that are easy to dress up with ribbon, ornaments, or berries.

I’ve also included some of my favorite ways to style artificial greenery so it looks fuller and more natural in your home.

My Favorite Walmart Christmas Greenery

I love Christmas greenery because you don’t need a lot of it to make your home feel ready for the holidays. And since green is such a classic Christmas color, it works with just about any decorating style.

You can keep things simple with natural-looking pine and cedar or choose flocked greenery for more of a snowy winter look. There are also pre-lit wreaths and garlands that make decorating especially easy.

When I’m shopping for faux greenery, I usually look for pieces with different types of branches and needles. That little bit of variation can make artificial greenery look much more realistic.

Below, I’ve gathered some of my favorite Walmart Christmas greenery for decorating your home this season.

Walmart Christmas Wreaths

A Christmas wreath is probably one of the easiest holiday decorations to add to your home.

Of course, you can hang one on the front door, but I also love wreaths on interior doors, windows, kitchen cabinets, and above a mantel. I’ve even leaned a wreath against a wall or mirror rather than hanging it.

When choosing a faux wreath, I look for one with plenty of texture. A combination of pine, cedar, pinecones, berries, or different shades of green gives it a much more natural appearance.

And don’t worry if a wreath looks a little flat when it arrives. Faux greenery often needs some fluffing and shaping before it looks its best.

Walmart Christmas Garlands

Christmas garland might be my favorite type of greenery because there are so many places to use it.

Drape it across a mantel, wind it around a staircase railing, place it over a doorway, or run it down the center of a dining table. You can even add a little greenery along a kitchen shelf or console table.

One of my favorite tricks is layering two garlands together when one looks a little thin. They don’t even need to match perfectly. In fact, combining different types of greenery can make the finished garland look more realistic.

Walmart Christmas Greenery Stems and Picks

Christmas greenery stems and picks are one of my favorite ways to fill in little spaces around the house during the holidays.

I love tucking them into vases, adding them to a mantel, or mixing a few into wreaths and garlands that need a little more fullness. Cedar, pine, and other evergreen stems are especially pretty when you combine different textures and shades of green.

They’re also an easy way to bring Christmas greenery into smaller spaces. A few branches in a favorite vase can make a kitchen counter, entry table, or nightstand feel festive without adding a lot of decorations.

And if your artificial garland or wreath looks a little sparse, simply tuck in a few greenery picks. It’s one of the easiest ways to give inexpensive Christmas greenery a fuller, more natural look.

Walmart Christmas Trees and Decorative Trees

Of course, we can’t talk about Christmas greenery without including the Christmas tree!

The tree is usually the largest piece of greenery in the room, so it really sets the tone for the rest of your Christmas decor.

Walmart carries everything from traditional green trees to flocked and pre-lit styles. If you’re choosing an artificial tree, think about the space where it will go before deciding on the height and fullness.

A slim tree can be wonderful in a smaller room, entryway, or bedroom, while a fuller tree makes a beautiful statement in a living or family room.

How to Make Artificial Christmas Greenery Look More Realistic

Even inexpensive faux greenery can look beautiful with a little styling.

The first thing I do is fluff it. Separate the branches and bend some of them in slightly different directions rather than leaving everything perfectly uniform. Real branches aren’t identical, so your faux greenery shouldn’t be either.

Here are a few more easy tricks I use:

  • Mix different varieties of greenery.
  • Layer two thinner garlands for a fuller look.
  • Add a few faux cedar or pine stems where you see bare spots.
  • Tuck in pinecones for natural texture.
  • Add velvet or satin ribbon for a softer look.
  • Mix in a few berry branches for color.
  • Weave warm white lights through unlit greenery.
  • Let some branches hang loosely instead of making everything perfectly symmetrical.

Sometimes all a basic wreath or garland needs is a little reshaping and a pretty ribbon to make it look completely different.

Where to Decorate With Christmas Greenery

Once you start decorating with greenery, you’ll probably find places for it all over the house. I know I do!

Here are some of my favorite spots.

Christmas Greenery on the Mantel

The mantel is an obvious place for a beautiful garland.

I like greenery that drapes naturally rather than looking too stiff. You can leave it simple or layer in ribbon, bells, ornaments, pinecones, or lights.

And if one garland isn’t quite full enough, try adding another. Layering greenery is one of the easiest ways to create that lush Christmas mantel look.

Christmas Greenery on the Front Door

A wreath instantly makes the front door feel festive.

You can choose a simple green wreath and change the ribbon from year to year, or pick one that’s already decorated with berries, pinecones, bells, or ornaments.

Just make sure the wreath is suitable for outdoor use if your door isn’t protected from the weather.

Christmas Greenery on a Staircase

Garland looks so pretty running along a staircase railing.

You can attach it along the top of the banister or let it swag gently between attachment points. Add bows or ribbon at the ends for an easy finishing touch.

Battery-operated lights are also handy on a staircase since you don’t have to worry as much about hiding a cord.

Christmas Greenery on a Table

Greenery makes an easy Christmas centerpiece.

Try running a garland down the middle of the dining table and adding candles, pinecones, or ornaments around it. Just keep the arrangement low enough that everyone can see across the table.

For a smaller table, a few loose evergreen stems in a vase can be just as pretty.

Christmas Greenery in the Kitchen

I always love bringing a little bit of Christmas into the kitchen.

A small wreath on a cabinet door, a few pine branches in a vase, or a little garland along an open shelf adds just enough holiday color without taking up valuable counter space.

How to Choose Christmas Greenery

With so many choices, it helps to think about where you’re going to use your greenery before buying it.

Pre-Lit or Unlit Greenery?

Pre-lit greenery is convenient, especially for mantels, staircases, and places where you know you want lights.

Unlit greenery gives you more flexibility. You can leave it natural or add your own lights, ribbon, ornaments, and other decorations.

I like both, so this really comes down to where you’re using it and how much decorating you want to do.

Flocked or Traditional Greenery?

Flocked greenery gives you that snowy Christmas look and can be especially pretty with white, silver, gold, or pastel decorations.

Traditional green pine and cedar are timeless and work beautifully with almost every Christmas color palette.

If you can’t decide, you can even mix the two. A few lightly frosted stems tucked into traditional green garland can be really pretty.

What Size Wreath Should I Buy?

Think about the size of the door or wall where your wreath will hang.

You want the wreath to make an impact without overwhelming the space. I like to measure the area before ordering because wreath sizes can be deceiving when you’re shopping online.

Also check whether the listed measurement includes the outermost branches. Once you fluff the wreath, it may look larger than it did in the box.

How Much Garland Do I Need?

Always measure before ordering garland.

For a mantel, you’ll usually want a little extra length so the greenery can drape over the sides instead of stopping abruptly at each end.

For staircases and doorways, decide whether you want the garland pulled fairly straight or loosely draped. A swagged look requires more length.

Walmart Christmas Greenery FAQs

Does Walmart sell Christmas greenery?

Walmart carries a variety of artificial Christmas greenery during the holiday season, including wreaths, garlands, Christmas trees, swags, and decorative stems. The selection can vary throughout the season and between stores and online.

How can I make cheap Christmas garland look expensive?

Start by thoroughly fluffing the garland and separating all the branches. Then add a few extra greenery stems to thin areas.

Layering two garlands together is another easy way to create a fuller look. Finish it with ribbon, pinecones, berries, bells, ornaments, or warm white lights.

Can I mix different types of Christmas greenery?

Yes! In fact, I think mixed greenery often looks more realistic.

Try combining pine, cedar, eucalyptus, or other evergreen-style stems. The slight differences in color, shape, and texture give the arrangement more depth.

Can artificial Christmas greenery be used outdoors?

Some artificial greenery is designed for outdoor or covered outdoor use, but not all of it is.

Check the product description before placing a wreath or garland outside. Even outdoor-rated faux greenery will usually last longer when it’s protected from direct rain and harsh weather.

How do I store artificial Christmas greenery?

I try not to crush my wreaths and garlands when putting them away.

Wreath storage bags or boxes are great for keeping wreaths protected. Garlands can be loosely coiled and stored in a plastic bin.

When you pull everything out the following Christmas, expect to spend a few minutes fluffing and reshaping the branches again.

And that’s probably why I love Christmas greenery so much. It’s simple, classic, and easy to use year after year.
