Here’s my post for January Winter Wreath Ideas. With Christmas behind us, it’s the perfect time to cozy our homes with a lovely new wreath. Let’s get crafting and create this charming white paper leaf wreath, capturing the essence of a snowy winter wonderland.
Adding a handmade touch to your home this season is easy with a beautiful winter paper wreath, perfect for bringing a cozy, festive vibe indoors.
I have always loved a paper craft project. I had another wreath that I thought of making, but my mind kept gravitating to this paper wreath.
And maybe you’re wondering why I love working with paper.
Why a Paper Wreath
- Affordability: Making a paper wreath is incredibly cost-effective, allowing you to create stunning decor without breaking the bank.
- Creativity Unleashed: This project lets you tap into your creative side, experimenting with different designs and colors.
- Eco-Friendly: Using paper, especially recycled or upcycled materials, makes this a great eco-conscious crafting choice.
- Easy Accessibility: The materials required are usually readily available at home or at local craft stores, making it super convenient.
- Customizable: Paper wreaths can be tailored to any size, style, or occasion, making them incredibly versatile.

January Winter Wreath
I crafted my wreath using white cardstock, but feel free to choose any color paper that suits your style. Initially, I wanted to use a lovely green paper, but since I didn’t have it, I opted for a soothing white winter wreath instead!
Supplies You’ll Need
- White Cardstock Paper
- Scissor
- Leaf Template ( I just made a simple leaft that is 3 inches in length, the other leaves I free-hand the template as well)
- Wire Wreath Form
- Hot Glue Gun
Directions on Making Your Paper Wreath
Step 1 – Cut Out Leaves
I cut out 120 leaves for my wreath. Make a template and outline in pencil and cut about three at a time.
Once you have all the leaves, fold them in half vertically, like in the third photo.
Step 2 – Special Leaves
You don’t have to take this step, but if you feel adventurous, go for it. I wish I had a template, but I freehand drew these leaves. You’re more than welcome to copy them if you like.
I love the added dimension these leaves bring to the January winter wreath.
Step 3 – Attach Leaves
Attach your simple leaves first. Apply hot glue to the back of the leaves and attach them to the wire frame. Work in rows, place leaves on the right side of the row, and work your way to the left side or interior of the circle. Then place another row like it below and overlap a bit.
When you have covered the whole wreath, go around andlook for holes where you might see the wire form. Place extra leaves in those gaps.
And if you made the unique leaves, place them on your wreath to add a little accent. Make them look organic and have them peeking out of the side and middle.
Step 4 – Attach a Ribbon
Attach a ribbon of a fishing line to your wreath form and hang the wreath on a wall or door.
