appetizers for thanksgiving….
i’ve been busy lately, so sorry about the lack of blog post. thanksgiving dinner will be at our house this year, so i’m trying to prepare for it as well as planning a birthday party for my daughter and of course replacing the old worn carpets in all our bedrooms. i’m still working on my bar stools, and i have two more chairs to paint. but, anywhooo…..i did find this very yummy and unusual appetizers, so i thought i would share. i was shopping at our local whole foods store and they had samples of this in their cheese section. it is a unusual combination of tastes. there was a customer that couldn’t seem to get enough of the samples, i think he had 3 tastings! who would have thought that a onion and pepper jam would pair well with a cream cheese. so, it is so simple and so tasty that it will make a nice before dinner treat! i bought mine at whole foods, so if you live near one get your groceries there. if you don’t have a whole foods in your neighborhood, i found some on amazon. or maybe you’ll have to substitute ingredients.
here is the yummy cream cheese…not like the ones you get in the local grocery stores. it is very rich and mild! not sure where you can buy this cream cheese, but here is their website…https://www.sierranevadacheese.com/cows_milk_products.php
here is a close up shot and it is as yummy as it looks!
this jam is wonderful, it is called “sweet mother of onion.” too funny! it is nice blend of tang and sweet. here is a link to their website: https://www.pepperlane.com/Pepperlane/Welcome.html you can find a few of their jams on Amazon but not the onion jam. i have tried the others and they are just as yummy. this onion jam is very unusual…. here is the link to amazon: pepperlane jam
looking at the photo makes me want to eat the whole thing up! i can’t start feasting until thanksgiving or i’ll be a blimp! i’m working on my tabletop decor, so if my ideas work, i’ll share some photos. well, back to cleaning out my bedroom so it’s ready for the carpet installers! thanks for visiting and enjoy your autumn.
