Decorating with Pillows

we remodeled our kitchen about two and a half years ago.  we added this window seat that also holds additional storage drawers.  ok, for the last two and a half years this window seat has stayed pretty undecorated, i’m sure you all have a project like this?  finally over the holidays we took a trip over to marin and i visited the new West Elm store.  it was love at first sight, everything about the store was awesome!  so, i decided to make the plunge and purchase some yellow and grey silk pillows.  i was originally hoping to decorate this seat with a fun ikat design fabric, but everything i tried was just too busy.  our granite has a very bold and bright pattern, so going solid was the only way to go.  

here is our bold granite.  i love it against the white, it just warms up the kitchen.  originally, i wanted a white marble, but my husband wanted a warm environment and was worried that the white on white would be too cold.  i now love the yellow and it is a unusual granite that’s dramatic and draws lots of compliments!
