Bringing Fall to Life in Your Kitchen

As the leaves change and the holidays approach, now is the perfect time to fill your home with all the sweet and spicy smells of fall baking.

Baking is not just about making delicious treats; it’s also about the joy of sharing them with friends and family. A warm pie fresh from the oven or a batch of soft pumpkin cookies can make any day special.

A Personal Note from Janine

A decorative bundt cake, inspired by banana bread recipes using oil, sits on a glass stand, encircled by evergreen branches and festive red, gold, and silver ornaments. The cake features a striking geometric pattern and is beautifully viewed from above.

I’ve been spending so much time in the kitchen lately, and I love every minute! With the weather getting cooler, I don’t feel guilty about having the oven on all day. There’s something so comforting about baking fall desserts and filling the house with the cozy scents of cinnamon, pumpkin, and sweet spices. I’m already prepping for Thanksgiving and freezing many of my desserts to get ahead of the holiday rush.

Recently, I had a wonderful visit with my mother-in-law in Vermont. We spent time chatting, and she shared one of her favorite recipes with me. I gave it a try, and it turned out so delicious! I’ll be sharing that special bread recipe on the blog next week, so keep an eye out—it’s definitely one you won’t want to miss.

It means so much to me that I can honor my mom’s and my mother-in-law’s cherished recipes here on the blog. These family traditions are truly special, and I hope they can bring as much joy to your home as they do to ours. Make sure to check back on Monday for my latest fall dessert—it’s going to be a cozy, sweet treat for the season!

Happy Weekend to you!

Cheers,

PS This is a sneak peek at Monday’s post!

This Week’s Tip – Pam Baking Spray

A can of PAM Baking Spray with Flour showcases a Bundt cake topped with icing, perfect for your fall dessert recipes. The spray promises no artificial preservatives, flavors, or colors.
A freshly baked bundt cake with white icing drizzled on top sits on a white plate, embodying the essence of Fall Dessert Recipes. The image features a header titled "BAKING" with the text "MADE WITH FLOUR" elegantly displayed at the bottom.

Pam Baking Spray

You might already know about this product, but I recently discovered it on the Nordic Ware website, and it’s a game-changer! They recommended it while discussing their gorgeous cake pans, and I had to try it.

It turns out it’s not just oil—it’s a spray containing flour! No more greasing pans with shortening and then dusting them with flour. The best part? It coats your pan in seconds, and there’s no messy flour residue left on your finished cake. I’m so glad I found this, and I am even more excited to share it with you!

Latest Obsession – Nordic Ware Cake Pans

A decorative Bundt cake mold is displayed on a white surface alongside a tempting banana bread Bundt cake, made using oil, on a glass stand. Nearby are a red spatula, a striped cloth, measuring spoons, and a small whisk.

Nordic Ware Pans

Have you tried baking with these beautiful pans?

I recently picked one up, and I’m absolutely in love!

I used to avoid intricate pans like these because I was worried the cake would stick and ruin the design. But I found the perfect solution—a special baking spray called Pam Baking Spray, which is a combination of oil and flour. It makes sure your cakes pop right out, even from the most detailed molds!

I recently tried another Nordic Ware pan and, out of curiosity, didn’t oil half the molds—and to my surprise, the cakes still slid out perfectly! I haven’t tested this trick on my latest mold yet, but when I do, I’ll update you with the results. I’m excited to see how it works!
