Finding the Right Chair

finding the right chair
on this blog, i usually post my final decorating solution and you don’t get to see my all my attempts to find the perfect piece of furniture or accessory.  so i thought it might be nice to share with you my latest project from beginning to end.  so, i have this wonderful little spot in my master bedroom that in the winter gets a nice blast of sunshine.  i’ve always imagined this spot to be a wonderful place to sit and relax and be creatively inspired!  so, thus began the mission to find the perfect chair for this spot!  my husband calls me, “a woman on a mission!”  lets just say that i’m a little obsessive, who isn’t?  so, i went around to world market, home goods, and target to find the perfect chair and i came up with 3 choices. i found that they would all look nice in my master bedroom so that made the final choice that much harder.  one has a green and blue fabric and is so cute and i know it would look great with everything since i have all those colors on my bed and walls.  another chair has blue and yellow, but i wasn’t too into the ikat design.  the final one is a yellow and cream chair with a sophisticated design.  it is not my usual style, i lean more on the casual side of design.  but this yellow has a very cheerful attitude and the design is definitively what i needed to punch up the room.  i really wanted to break out of my routine of staying so closely in my 2 color palate.  so i stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to take the plunge! i just recently joined instagram and the gals that i’m connected to kept saying that i needed to bring home all three chairs to figure out which one worked in the space.  well, for my birthday my husband gave me the yellow one ( my daughter planted a little hint in my husband’s ear about what i wanted! ) from target and i knew in an instant it was the one.  i really didn’t need to buy the others!  so, now i have to find some yellow accents for my bookshelves that surround the chair. gosh, if it isn’t one thing it’s another!  i hope this has inspired you to tackle some project that has been nagging you!  thanks for stopping by.
ok, here is the awesome blue green chair from world market.  as much as it matches all that i have going on in our master bedroom, i think it might just blend in too much and not stand out.  i almost bought it just to try out, but decided to wait until i introduced another color chair.
here is the other chair that i considered for my spot of sunshine.  i’ve been into yellow these days, it is such a happy and positive color and i can’t get enough of these two things! ultimately i just felt like the grey is just not right for my bedroom.
this is the final one that i love in my new space! it is from target and you’ve gotta love that place!
so i bought a little green velvet pillow to bring out the green that i have going on in the room.  it just gives the chair even more pop!
