Chalkboard Labels

Organizing our Food with Chalk Labels
Now that I’m making more gluten free foods for my daughter, I have new ingredients that need a home. I just happen to have a few jars that are empty!  I’m thinking that if I place labels on them I’ll need to change the ingredients. Chalk labels were the answer, it would allow me to rewrite the contents on the label. I went around to all the craft stores in search of premade chalk labels and couldn’t find them. Then, I found a roll of chalk label paper at our local craft store. I was just about to use my kiddos fat sidewalk chalk, when my friend, Chaska told me about the Paper Source having chalk pens. Oh my gosh, the project was complete in my head! Here are the results.
My many jars. If you are like me, you like containers? My husband teases me that I have containers for containers!!!  Here is the link at Amazon:  glass containers
Ok, you’ll need to buy some awesome label paper.  Here it is on Amazon: chalk label paper
I couldn’t draw my image, so i traced the shape.
Here it is traced. When you cut them, you can layer 3 label papers together and cut 3 at once.
If you don’t have the time and energy, you can buy some premade labels here on my Amazon link: premade labels
I found these cool chalk marker pens at the Paper Source Store.   These markers are  just like chalk and wash away with a wet towel.  They are great since you can control the chalk and I feel like it is less smudge proof! we finally got a new Paper Source store near us.  If you want to order some of these pens, please click on my link in amazon: chalk marker.I make a little bit of profit from your order.
I’m so happy with the results!
Cheers,

    Hi Janine,

Really amazing idea! Everything looks so much neater and more organized stored in containers. And the chalkboard labels gives them a cute and modern twist.

    Sincerely, Mina

    Hi Sb,

I bought the jars at Crate and Barrel and I've seen them at the Container Store. I'm thinking that maybe Target might have them, but I'm not sure. I'm glad you like it. Let me know how it turns out!

    Hi Mina,

Thanks so much for your nice comments. Yeah, I've seen the pins on pinterest so I thought that the stickers would be in most craft stores. But, when I couldn't find them, I had to resort to making them. It didn't take any time to cut them out. The white marker is awesome…smudging is really minimal and the lines are crisp. I love my pantry now. Ok, I have to tackle my other pantry of baking staples! Hope you can do the project and thanks so much for visiting!

    Hi Janine,
the ideas you share on your blog are lovely. If you managed to find a way how to tackle your pantry of baking staples, please let me know. I've been struggling with my baking supplies and tools since forever and I have slowly given up on the thought of ever having a well organzied baking pantry. Kind regards, Mina

    Hi Mina,

I'm hoping to tackle my baking supplies soon. I'm going shopping today for the containers so when I get it all put together I will post it. I have measurements on my phone and I'm ready! The problem I found is that I have a mix of containers that don't necessarily fit in my cabinets. Some of them are round and some are square, so I want to organize the space with all square containers. When we finished our kitchen remodel I just threw all my old stuff into the cabinets and ignored the mess! I hope you can tackle your cabinets too! Thanks so much for visiting… I noticed you have a website, I will "like" your FB page…love your site!!!

    Sb,

I found the jars on amazon. If you look at my entry, you'll find a link. Hope this helps. I think the Amazon price is pretty good, since you get four in the set. Good luck…
