Saturday Chitchat with Janine – Volume 128
First, summer is impressive because of the weather, man. The sun’s out, the days are longer, and you can finally ditch those heavy jackets and feel the warm breeze on your skin.
And when it comes to fruit, summer is like the fruit festival of the year!
Watermelons, peaches, strawberries, mangos, you name it! These fruits are like nature’s candy, and I can’t get enough of them.
Now, here’s the juicy connection between summer and fruit. When it’s hot outside, you need something refreshing to cool down, right? That’s where the fruits come into play, my friend!
And not to forget, fruits are full of vitamins and antioxidants that keep us healthy and glowing during those sunny days.
So, it’s a win-win situation. Summer keeps us happy with its fantastic weather, and fruits keep us nourished and refreshed.
When summer arrives, I’m like a kid in a candy store, but I’m surrounded by all those delicious fruits instead of candies!
Personal Note from Janine
I’m a creature of habit.
Each morning, my favorite way to start the day is with a generous bowl of fresh fruit with plain Greek yogurt and a touch of agave syrup. Most days, I enjoy a fun mix of berries, but once summertime arrives, I switch to my favorite sweet juicy peaches.
The peaches sourced from our local orchard are an absolute delight – so incredibly sweet that I don’t need to add agave syrup. Sadly, my busy schedule has kept me from picking any peaches myself, but I’m hopeful that next week if work permits, I’ll have the opportunity to visit the orchard and gather some.
There’s truly nothing that compares to the taste of farm-fresh peaches. I encourage you to explore your local options for fresh vegetables and fruits as well. If you happen to be a skilled gardener, you might even have your very own supply right in your backyard!
Have a great weekend!
