spring has sprung in our nest!
i’ve got the spring cleaning and decorating bug, so i have to share with you some of my latest projects.  i hope you find them interesting and inspiring.  do you have a project that you want to share, let me know via email or comment below.  thanks for stopping by and i hope the month of may is off to a great start!
i’m still working on our family room/art room and it is definitely a work in progress.  i decided to change out the knobs on our pottery barn bookshelves.  i bought these gorgeous silver colored knobs from world market.  i chose to use the all silver ones and it just added that little bit of sparkle to the drawers.
i’m adding a little bit of color to my mostly white art room.  i bought the plate from home goods, which right now has some amazing summer decor.  i added a little gross grain ribbon for a little splash of color.

my husband has quite a collection of old antique bottles.  he remembered that he had two boxes of bottles stored away in our garage.  so today, he retrieved them for me and i can’t wait to decorate our house with them.  they are all so unique and i just love their subtle colors.
this is my master bedroom and i’m trying to choose a little chair in the corner next to the bookshelf. hopefully i can find a cute little chair that will go nicely with the rooms decor.  i will definitely, post my outcome in a future post.
i have had these picture frames over our bed for about a year.  up until a couple of days ago they were holding the stock photos they came with.  well, i finally had some prints made up and i filled the frames, miracles can happen!
we have been a little busy in the yard.  i’ve been cleaning things up after a couple months of winter neglect.  these cute ikea chairs were given to me by my very generous friend, elisabeth.  i just love them and i’m hoping to refreshen them with a little bit of black paint.

spring and summer decorating
there is something about the anticipation of warm summer weather that sparks a purging of all things winter.  i’ve been nesting this spring and freshening up our decor. when i redo a room, i start with a clean slate and then bring in items from all over the house.  i try most anything just to see if it works in the new area.  it is like my home is a shop and i can test things out.  i find that this process allows me to just try anything and sometimes a new look or color scheme is created.  so, have fun with your home and celebrate spring and summer with a fresh decorating ideas.  thanks so much for visiting.
i changed out my fall colored plates on this three tiered plate stand. i’m loving the clean white look.
i bought these candlesticks from ikea and i was so lucky to find two of them in the “as is” bin. anyway, i found that the silver color instantly lighten the decor right up.  on a whim i decided to try the light blue candles which had great results.
i changed out this basket to white blossoms and then added a summery ribbon.  you can find the basket on Amazon:  basket
