A Personal Note from Janine
I have fond memories of our family of seven spending the day at the beach. My mom would pack enough food for an army, and we’d bring plenty of umbrellas and beach towels. We often met our cousins and their families there, finding a spot with a fire pit to cook hotdogs and hamburgers.
Many Fourth of July gatherings were spent at the beach, and we always had a blast.
Recently, I tried to enjoy a special dessert we picked up by the ocean, but the wind was so strong it ruined our sweet treat. What sounded like a fun time turned into a disaster, but now we laugh so hard when remembering that outing.
I hope you make some great memories this Fourth of July with your family and friends!

This Week’s Tip – White Chocolate
The Secret to Melting White Chocolate
Have you ever tried melting chocolate melts only to end up with hard, unmelted chocolate? That happened to me with these chocolate melts—they just wouldn’t melt!
Here’s the trick I use, and it works beautifully:
Add a teaspoon of shortening for every two ounces of white chocolate. Melt them together in 30-second intervals. If the chocolate starts to harden, add a bit more shortening to smooth it out.
The shortening was the key, and I haven’t had any issues since using this technique!
And if you want colored chocolate, just add food dye—there’s no need to buy the chocolate already dyed! It’s so simple to make your color by dyeing it!
