Christmas Cookies and More
Now that I sent our holiday cards, and my shopping is almost complete, I’m excited to begin baking cookies for our friends and neighbors. I love this time of year when our kitchen is toasty warm, and the pleasant aroma of cookies fills the air. Over the years, I have collected some great recipes, and I was amazed how many I have shared on the blog. Some of them are old family favorites that come from my mom’s collection. I feel that cookies that have survived family critics are the best. I’ve tried a few of Martha’s Stewart’s dessert recipes, and I was amazed how many of them didn’t come out so great.
In addition to cookie recipes, I have included some other desserts that are perfect for giving away as gifts. I hope you have a chance to try out some of these delicious treats.
This is my mother’s amazing almond cookie recipe. I adore how super easy it is to make these cookies. They bake perfectly and are always a favorite among everyone who tries them.
My brother makes this caramel popcorn every Christmas. I feel that he is the master of making this addicting sugary popcorn. Just looking at the photo, makes me want a handful.
This cookie looks like your typical thumbprint cookie, but looks are deceiving. It is more like a dense marzipan type cookie with a chocolate ganache center. It is tasty with the chocolate center or without it, so if you don’t have the energy to make the ganache you can skip this step.
I tried a few coconut macaroon recipes and encountered problems with the egg consistency. After many attempts and alterations, I created my own. This gluten free cookie is perfect for my daughter.
Sugared walnuts or pecans are incredibly easy to make and they are deliciously crunchy and sweet topping for salads. Most of the time I have to make two batches, one for snacks and the other for my salads!
Surprisingly these crunchy buttery sugar cookies have potato chips in the ingredients! You’ll find you can’t just eat one.
Scones are my weakness, and this recipe is unique and its taste goes beyond the standard scone. I don’t think I have ever had anything like it.
Italian biscotti should crumble and yet the outer cookie should be crunchy. I attended a baking class, and the Italian chef gave us this incredible recipe. She offers a cooking tour of the Italian countryside and someday I would love to take this magnificent trip.
This fudge has two ingredients and is super easy to make. It is one of those recipes that you see all over Facebook and Pinterest. I was curious and had to try it. I found that it did make a delicious fudge that you’ll love.
Well, you need to get your baking supplies out and get busy in the kitchen. Turn on the holiday music to set the festive mood, and enjoy these delectable treats. When you are done baking make sure to check out our different ways to package them in a pretty container. Here are those blog posts: decorating a jar holiday containers

Enjoy, and we would love to hear what family favorites you may have!
