Paper Wreath DIY
Paper projects always fascinate me.
And when you combine paper with a wreath, you have a great combination.
You see, I’ve wanted to make some paper bag leaves, and what better project than to make a wreath!
For this wreath, you’ll want to save your paper bags from the grocery store! It’s always a good thing to upcycle some bags.
Ok, without further delay, let’s get this craft project started!
By the way, this post is part of a fun fall decorating blog hop. So, make sure to check out my friend’s lovely fall homes down below.
How to Make a Paper Bag Leaf Wreath
Supplies:
2-3 brown grocery store paper bags
scissors
pencil
hot glue gun and glue sticks
small branches (optional)
cinnamon sticks (optional)
Directions:
Step 1 – Download Leaf Template
I have a leaf template that you might want to use for this project. You can get the template here. Once you have the template printed out, cut it out with scissors. Now use this cutout leaf for your template.
Cut out about 24 leaves. You can view them in the next photo. I also made a small, simple design that looks like a eucalyptus leaf.
Step 2 – Draw the Veins on the Leaves
Use your white chalk pen and draw the veins on the leaves. I feel the more sketchy the lines, the more realistic they appear.
Step 3 – Make a Paper Rosette Flower
This is an optional step. You can find the instructions on my Rosette flower blog post. For this petite rosette, I used a small round glass as my template. Also, I only made one rosette for this wreath.
Step 4 – Make the Acorns
These acorns are simple to make. Place a dab of hot glue on the underside of the acorn cap and place it onto the wool ball. Hold it there for a couple of seconds to ensure it adheres to the ball.
Step 5 – Assemble the Wreath
Place your leaves on the grapevine wreath with a glue gun. I also inserted a few natural branches and attached my simple leaves to them. I like the effect of my added branches. It has a more organic and lively feel.
Add a ribbon to your wreath if you like. I went with a natural beige ribbon to feel more natural.
So, let’s get our fall decorating started. Create a room that’s cozy and inviting! And don’t forget to make this fun fall wreath!
Thanks for visiting, and happy crafting this fall!

Your paper bag leaf wreath is exactly what I need for the dutch door leading into our butler’s pantry. I always like to add a seasonal touch to the window, it’s hard to find things that don’t compete with the background For this wreath, did you enlarge the size of the leaf template? Thanks for this great, creative post!
