A warm holiday welcome.
I love this tour hosted by Kristen, from Ella Claire Blog. This is a fabulous gathering of talented bloggers. And every year I’m overwhelmed and honored that I am included in this group.
Trip to Spain
Last summer we whisked the kids up from their last day of school and headed to the airport.
We wasted no time. Summer vacation, here we come!
I know, I’m talking about summer, and you are probably wondering if I have lost my marbles.
Yes, it is November and not June.
Ok, hang in there, this is a Janine story…
So, as a blogger, the holidays are a zany time for me. I wake up most mornings and hit the ground running.
Enough about work, let’s get back to our summer trip in beautiful Spain.
Well, we rented a marvelous house out in the countryside and happily, it didn’t have wifi or cell reception.
The first day was a bit rough unplugging from civilization.
But, this thoroughly convinced me that we need more days without the distraction of our cell phones and all electronics.
So, you can imagine that I had a lot of time on my hands. All our laundry was washed and hung out on the line to dry, we got in lots of lovely hikes, so I thought, why not create something.
Well, I had a brilliant idea that I would work on this holiday post and paint my gift tags.
Now, I haven’t picked up a paintbrush in forever.
So, I dusted off my watercolors and headed out to the cabana right next to the pool.
I was happily inspired by the beauty of my surroundings, a French blue table, a collection of bleached seashells in a vintage clay bowl.
While the rest of my family was lying in comfy hammocks, I was busily painting these watercolor snowflakes.
Christmas Tags
I must admit I have a difficult time turning off my creativity.
So, I thoroughly live up to my Buddy the Elf title. You can see it pop up in last year’s Holiday Tour.
These tags will always remind me of my memorable trip to this provincial getaway in the beautiful Pyrenees mountains of Northern Spain.
It has been my pleasure to share this story with you as well as these fun Christmas tags.
Here is the link to your tags, just print and cut them out and place them on your presents.
Make sure to use these tags on your favorite holiday gift box. I baked my mom’s light and yummy, cookie recipe that I know you will love. I named them after her, Amy’s Almond Cookies.
Happy Holidays!
So, from our family to yours, A Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Your creation is so delicate and dainty! It will certainly be used for gifts to my BFF’s. How did you enlarge the on tag to wrap around the white container and/or small flower pot?
Kindest regards~

Hi Mary,
So happy you like my tags. One of the tags is big enough to wrap around a carton. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

That sounds like an incredible trip being able to get away, unplug, and relax……and find a little creative time as well. Makes me a little jealous! These gift tags are beautifully painted and a special reminder of your Spanish adventure.

These gift tags are gorgeous! I also appreciate the non-religious “winter” theme which everyone can enjoy.
