Saturday Chitchat with Janine – Volume 154
I’ve always had a passion for desserts and baking. These two things bring me so much joy. It’s my go-to way to unwind and relax after a long day.
This week, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try my hand at creating a mirror glaze for my mini-mousse cakes. To my surprise, they turned out amazing! They were light, delicious, and oh-so-cute!
It’s important to challenge ourselves now and then. Whether trying new recipes in the kitchen or pursuing a new venture, pushing beyond our comfort zones is excellent for our confidence and growth. Take it from me – I wasn’t exactly keen on writing when I started my blog, but I stuck with it, and now it’s become a legitimate business!
So, don’t hesitate to take on new challenges. Whether it’s in business, relationships, or your culinary skills, embrace the opportunity to grow and create something extraordinary!
A Personal Note from Janine
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Back when my husband and I were dating, he once showed up for a homemade dinner I had prepared without realizing it was Valentine’s Day.
That was a bit of an eye-opener for him. He quickly learned that holidays were a pretty big deal to me. After that first slip-up, he made sure to keep a closer eye on the calendar.
Over the years, I’ve mellowed out quite a bit. Now, Valentine’s Day isn’t about dinner reservations or exchanging gifts. Instead, we like to whip up a delicious dinner, which has become one of our favorite traditions.
And who knows, maybe I’ll convince him to join me in making a fun dessert!
This brings me to today’s theme: Pink Dessert Ideas! Take a look at these adorable and delicious treats!
I appreciate you hanging out with me for Saturday Chitchat this weekend!
Cheers,

This Week’s Tip – Silicone Dome Molds
My first go with a silicone mold was a total disaster! I baked a heart-shaped cake, and when I tried to get it out, it crumbled into a gazillion pieces. Okay, maybe not that many, but a bunch!
But, just recently, I whipped up these delicious mousse cakes, and getting them out of the mold was a breeze. The trick? Freezing the mousse first. It popped right out!
Now, I’m not entirely sure when it comes to releasing a cake from a silicone mold. But from what I’ve gathered, slathering on a good layer of oil before pouring in your batter might do the trick. It’s worth another shot in the future!
