window treatments…
i’m not the greatest at making quick decisions…or any decisions for that matter, so finding the right window treatments for my kitchen has been a three year project. my good friend, monica and i found that we have a difficult time making big decisions, we get caught up in the research and then slowly become paralyzed! so, it has been easier to live with my awful kitchen window curtains then to come up with a better solution. after our big remodel, we did have some roman shades made that had the cool feature of lowering halfway and allowing light in at the top and privacy on the bottom. but unfortunately, these shades were not made well and actually looked a little shabby, and not in a good way. something had to replace them and we couldn’t just have bare windows since we live on a somewhat busy street and our neighborhood is full of walkers, runners, and bicyclers who do from time to time stare into our big picture windows. :o) sometimes people peer into our house so overtly that my daughter will smile at them and wave! finally, i made the suggestion to my hubby that we try wood shutters…ouch, the price was pretty expensive. we ended up buying the rockwood shutters from home depot and luckily we got in a good sale. home depot has done a great job offering a somewhat affordable package that includes materials and installation, which makes it really convenient to tackle big projects. they have done a great job on two of our projects and i am very pleased with the quality of work and materials. anywhoo, i think our kitchen is now officially complete and now i can focus on other rooms in the house. since i’m on a roll with window treatments, i’m in the process of figuring out drapery solutions for our dining room and living room…ugh, it never ends. hopefully, i can inspire you to tackle some or your longtime projects! thanks for visiting and if you want to see updates from my blog, just subscribe through bloglovin or find me on Facebook…
not sure what is going on with these crazy roman shades…my husband wanted them removed the day we had them installed!
now with the shutters….our windows look so much neater! love it…
i love how the shutters look when their open! either way, they have such a clean line to them and they just finish off our kitchen nicely!

Your kitchen is amazing! May I ask the name and brand of paint color on your kitchen walls. We currently have the same color granite and white cabinets with red walls. I would love to brighten things up a bit but having a hard time choosing a color. Love your blog and Instagram page!
