treasures

i love to visit thrift shops in fact i think it has become a problem for me!  it is a fun pastime that sometimes holds some great treasures.  i’ve been looking for a clock for my yellow kitchen and haven’t had great luck at the retail stores. so this past weekend, i just happened to drop in to one of my favorite thrift shops and they were having a sale…75% off everything!  actually, the prices are already pretty good at these second hand shops, so getting things on sale is so cheap!  i found this very cute yellow retro looking clock and it was only $2.  it was a little dirty and need a little bit of love (i think that what kept it from being noticed), but once it was cleaned up…it was so bright and cheerful!  i just love it. 

so, for valentine’s day my wonderful husband bought me a beautiful white orchid.  of course, it came in a red pot that was perfect for valentine’s day, but actually the color is too bright for the rest of the decor in my house.  

so, i was on a mission to find a new container.  lo and behold i found a silver vase and i love it with the orchid.  the silver is so fresh and i love how the orchid looks so elegant!  hope i have inspired you to visit your local thrift shop and find some great treasures for your home!  thanks for visiting and have a wonderful weekend, happy friday!
