Kid Zone…

my latest project…

here is my family room, it can’t get any messier than this!  ok, i just took everything off our shelves and i’m hoping to reorganize and redecorate our family room into a fun kid zone!  my son is totally into playing a board game called, settlers of catan and so for the last month or so we have hosted his friends over for weekend games.  we love having the friends over, but we thought it would be nice for them to have a space that they could hangout in.  so, this past weekend we spent time reconfiguring the room and shopping at ikea.  we ended up with a really nice sturdy table from the Ingatorp line.  my husband liked the turquoise chairs, so we went crazy and bought them for the room.  i’m still not sure of the color, but he says i need to loosen up and have fun.  i do think i’ll calm the color down with 2 white chairs that you can view in the foreground of the photo.  we are planning on mounting a tv in the corner and then getting some bean bag chairs near the hearth.  I can’t wait to use the table for my crafts!  i do hope to have a piece of glass made for the top so that I don’t have to worry about messing the table top!
