~ A Note About the Nester ~
My Grandmother was an avid gardener and Ikebana flower arranger. I remember visiting her garden and getting lost in her beautiful flowers. Her yard was a gigantic blend of blossoms which appeared somewhat haphazard, but it displayed her deep passion for them. Now I understand her love for plants, and I wish I could go back and visit her and her lovely flower garden.

When I want to transform a space quickly with the seasons, I concentrate on three things. These easy tools are the perfect reference for any styling project. Let’s get started with the spring decorating ideas.
Flowers
Real Flowers
With every season, I change out the flowers in our living room. I will now and then buy a bouquet of fresh flowers that will nicely coordinate with my new design. Of course, when I think of spring colors and flowers, light, colorful accents pop into my mind. So, I choose flowers that accentuate spring, tulips, forsythia, daffodils, iris, and stocks. The fresh spring colors I focus on are white, yellow, lime green, light pink, and light lavender.
There is nothing quite as beautiful as fresh flowers. Don’t you think these soft yellow stocks are the perfect compliment to the bright tulips?
Silk
I have quite a collection of silk flowers that I store in our garage. I haul them out when I’m working on a room. I add flowers to spaces that are desperate for color. Currently, our grocery store has fresh forsythia stems, but I decided to use my silk flowers. I love to decorate with them every spring, and I’m always amazed how they instantly freshen up a room. Here is a link to Amazon for a bouquet of silk forsythia.

Pillows
I find that pillows are an easy way to jumpstart my decorating ideas. These retro style pillowcases are the perfect fresh look that I envisioned. I love how they make a bold statement on the white sofa. I always pick one dominant color and one complimentary color and I try to use them throughout the room. This creates a cohesive look that compositionally balances all the elements together. For more ideas on how to decorate a room, visit this post: Spring Decorating
