blossoms…
my latest motto is…out with winter and in with spring!  once the holiday decorations were moved back into our ever crowded garage, i got a bad case of spring fever.  since moving into our northern california house three years, i have done nothing to decorate our entertainment center.  since we were planning on remodeling and painting it white, i just ignored the sad shelves.  it became a catch all for all the tchotchkes that didn’t have a home.  so after the living room was cleared out recently, i took the time to empty out the neglected entertainment center. one of things that changed was that i moved the shelves out to create a bigger and more dramatic space.  i’m trying to get out of my rut of not changing things up.  so my latest thoughts are to decorate dramatically!!!  also, i think that taking everything out of the area that you are working on, helps you decorate with a fresh perspective.  next, i went out to Joann’s and took advantage of their sale on silk flowers.  my favorite silk flowers are the apple blossoms, orchids, pussy willows and ranunculus.  so i placed them in a long glass vase for that nice airy feel… and i now love the results! hope this inspires your spring decorating!  thanks for visiting…
ps… i did keep a little of my holiday decorations around after the holidays…the little topiary on the top shelf is a Pottery Barn holiday tree…  :o)
