Ok, you have probably noticed that I adore ribbon. I don’t even want to tell you how many drawers of ribbon I own. But love to incorporate it into my decorating and crafts.

So make it a unique tag, you’ll want to attach my free printable to this gorgeous rustic black and white ribbon. I don’t think I have ever seen a Christmas tag like this ever.

Wrapping holiday gifts is so fun when you have pretty paper and tags. My Christmas tags from last year are watercolor images that are light a dainty. This year, I designed a look that is more dramatic and so I’m sharing these black and white gift tags.

Ok, here are some questions you might have about this project.

Can I Print Them Out on My Printer?

Yes! Once you have access to the printable in my google doc, pull down the file tab. Once you have the file tab open select, “print” which is the bottom option.

How Do I Download the Printable?

Signup via the form. Once you receive the printable link in your inbox, you can print it right away.

Do I Need to Print Them Out on Cardstock Paper?

No, you don’t need to print it out on cardstock since the ribbon you will be attaching it to will provide some stability.

How Long Do They Take to Make?

Since you need to cut out and attach these printables to ribbon, this project takes a bit more time. The total time to make these tags is around five minutes.

You can use your own ribbon so you don’t have to order or wait for this ribbon. But I highly recommend buying this ribbon since it is rustic and perfect for my merry and bright holiday gift tags printable.

You can opt not to decorate it with a button or ribbon.

Supplies

Good quality printer paper  (I found that a whiter and slightly thicker paper makes the tags print out beautifully)

Ribbon

Black and white linen ribbon with a frayed edge

Cream and white ribbon

White seam binding ribbon

Black polka dot ribbon

Black and white twine

Boxes

Black and white striped gift box

Black polka dot box

Vanilla colored gift box

Brown gift box

Buttons (optional)

Glue stick

Utility knife box cutter

Steel edge ruler

Craft cutting board or a kitchen cutting board

Instructions

1. Print out Tags

Refer to the Frequently Ask Questions on how to print the holiday tags out.

2. Cut out Tags

To cut out your tags use a box cutter knife and steel edge ruler. I love to cut my paper on my wooden cutting board. No need to buy a fancy surface, but I did attach a shopping link if you like to buy one.

3. Trim Ribbon to Size

Make sure to leave enough space on the ends so you have a border around your printable.

4. Glue printable

Use your glue stick and lightly glue the back fo the printable and then quickly attach it to the ribbon.

5. Decorate Your Tag

Glue a small ribbon to the top of your tag. Then glue a small oyster shell button on top of the ribbon. This is definitely an optional step.

6. Place the Tag’s Back to the Ribbon

This is the printable back that says, To and From on it.

7. Attach Your Tag

You can either glue or tape your tag to your box.

This is my latest King of Christmas Prince Flock Tree post

So I created these tags with a ton of love.

I need to tell you that I sat at my computer for hours trying all kinds of designs. Finally, towards evening, I came up with a version that I adore.  I’m super glad I didn’t give up and stayed obsessed, otherwise these merry and bright holiday gift tags printable may have never existed.

I hope you will decorate your special packages this Christmas and that you have a wonderful holiday season with your family.

Please enjoy the rest of the blog posts on this tour hosted by Kristen from Ella Claire.

Cheers,
