Discover the sweet magic of My Favorite Floral Desserts that look just like blooms from the garden and taste even better! When it comes to flower desserts, floral desserts, flower cookies, and flower cakes, I’m always in. There’s just something magical about floral desserts for summer—they feel fresh, whimsical, and straight out of a fairy tale.

A collage of my favorite floral desserts: a coconut cake with flowers, daisy-shaped cookies, colorful flower-shaped cookies, and a pink rosette cake, all displayed on white cake stands and plates.

I love using a petal piping tip to swirl up roses or delicate blossoms.

I adore making desserts topped with pressed edible flowers or painted with floral royal icing designs.

They’re so elegant, and surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it.

These cookies feel like something you’d find at a boutique bakery, and they make the perfect gift or table centerpiece.

Fondant Flowers for a Finishing Touch

If I’m not working with buttercream, I almost always reach for fondant.

Rolling, shaping, and painting fondant flowers can be a peaceful and creative outlet, allowing for intricate detail.

I like to make a few batches of flowers ahead of time and keep them stored away for decorating future cakes or cupcakes.

It’s a fun way to get ahead on party prep and still keep things looking extra special.

Not Every Dessert Needs to Be Floral

Not every dessert needs flowers to shine!

But when I’m in the mood to bake something magical and dreamy, floral desserts are my go-to.

And even if you’re not into flower designs, you’ll still find inspiration in trying new flavors, playing with colors, or decorating in ways that make you happy.

A Personal Note from Janine

Tall stalks of pink hollyhock flowers with green buds, set against a background of green trees and a clear blue sky. Text at the bottom reads "HAPPY HAPPY NESTER"—just like my favorite floral desserts, this scene is pure delight.

As you probably know by now, I love flowers — they make me so happy! This spring, I spent some time in our side yard planting Zinnia seeds again, just like I did last year. And the hollyhocks? They popped up on their own, which felt like such a sweet little surprise from the garden.

It’s been blooming beautifully, and while I’m so glad everything’s thriving, it’s a little sad too… because we’re about to head out on our big move from California to Florida. I won’t get to see everything fully bloom this season, which definitely pulls at my heart a bit.

But even though I’m leaving my flower garden behind, it’s always going to stay with me. It’s inspired so many things I do — especially in my baking — and I know it’ll keep showing up in the little details, like the colors I use or how I decorate a cake. This garden has been such a gift, and I’ll carry it with me wherever I go.

Thanks for joining me this weekend and I hope you’re having a wonderful Saturday!

Cheers,

This Week’s Inspiration – My Favorite Floral Desserts

A plate of daisy-shaped sugar cookies with yellow centers, sprinkled with sugar, sits on a marble surface—one of my favorite floral desserts—surrounded by extra cookies and decorative flowers.

Flower Cookies Recipe

This buttery flower cookies recipe makes the cutest (and tastiest!) little treats. They start with soft lemon sugar cookie dough that you roll into balls and press with a Nordic Ware cookie stamp to get that beautiful flower shape.

After baking, each one gets a little sprinkle of sugar and a dollop of lemon curd in the center!

A white plate with four delicate, translucent rice paper flowers—my favorite floral desserts—some with yellow or pink centers, is surrounded by pink and white artificial cherry blossom flowers.

Fried Rice Paper Flowers

Fried Rice Paper Flowers are a delightful and visually stunning dessert made by deep-frying delicate rice paper sheets, creating crisp, airy petals that resemble blooming flowers. Each crispy rice paper chip is held together with a dollop of colorful mochi in the center, adding a chewy contrast to the light and crunchy texture.

Once fried to a golden perfection, these edible rice paper flowers are dusted with a sprinkle of sugar, enhancing their subtle sweetness.

A cake decorated with pink and white buttercream roses sits on a white cake stand. The rosette pattern creates an elegant, floral look—truly one of my favorite floral desserts.

Easy Rosette Cake

Need a beautiful feminine cake for a special occasion? Then it would help if you made this Easy Rosette Cake Tutorial.

This stunning cake is impressive with its gorgeous floral frosting. Make the flowers in either a couple of colors or create an ombre effect.

It would be best if you had some buttercream frosting a Wilton 1M tip, and you’re ready to make these cute rosettes.

A white coconut cake covered in shredded coconut sits on a white cake stand, decorated with cream-colored flowers—one of my favorite floral desserts. A bowl of coconut, icing, and a checkered napkin are nearby, with more flowers softly blurred in the background.

Coconut Bundt Cake Recipe

A Coconut Bundt Cake Recipe is a delicious, sweet treat like the famous Tom Cruise Christmas cake he sends to friends. This cake is moist, buttery, and packed with coconut flavor, often topped with a luscious coconut frosting sprinkled with shredded coconut.

It’s the kind of simple, homemade dessert that’s perfect for any occasion.

A cake decorated with layers of purple and lavender fondant flowers, each with a small white center, sits on a white plate. The lovely floral design makes it one of my favorite floral desserts.

Hydrangea Cake

I love hydrangea flowers, so combining them into a beautiful cake would be nice. This hydrangea cake is simple to create but looks like it came from a fancy pastry shop. There is no need to pipe buttercream, as this recipe uses fondant and a hydrangea cutout for the blossoms.

This stunning flower cake is perfect for birthdays, showers, weddings, and more!

A stack of thin, round pizzelle cookies—one of my favorite floral desserts—is displayed on a white plate under a glass dome. More cookies, a cup of milk, and a bowl are visible in the background on a bright white surface.

Recipe for Gluten Free Pizzelles

This Recipe for Gluten Free Pizzelles is easy to make with just a few ingredients. No flour surpasses the authentic Italian gluten-free Caputo flour, crafted meticulously in Italy.

Indulge in this thin, crispy, buttery cookie that pairs perfectly with a bowl of creamy ice cream or a cup of coffee.

A beehive-shaped cake decorated with white icing, yellow flowers, green leaves, and small fondant bees—one of my favorite floral desserts—displayed elegantly on a white cake stand.

Bee Hive Cake

This Bee Hive Cake recipe and Nordic mold are absolutely adorable. I originally baked the honey lemon cake from Nordic but, I liked my cream cheese carrot cake recipe. Add some charming piped flowers for decoration to give this delightful cake an extra touch of cuteness.

I topped it off with some adorable candy honey bees for decoration, which added the perfect touch.

Seven flower-shaped treats, inspired by my favorite floral desserts, are made from colorful red, pink, and purple candies arranged on small round bases and displayed elegantly on a white cake stand. The light background is softly out of focus.

Flower Pretzels Recipe

Have you come across the trending Flower Pretzels Recipe on Instagram and TikTok? I couldn’t resist giving these delightful flower pretzel bites a shot, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy they are to whip up and how delicious they turned out.

All you require are a handful of basic ingredients: M&Ms, square pretzels, and pink chocolate meltaways.

Colorful flower-shaped cookies—my favorite floral desserts—feature pastel pink, yellow, green, and orange petals with creamy centers, beautifully arranged on and around a white round pedestal.

Mini Lemon Flower

You’ve probably seen these Mini Lemon Flower Tarts all over social media. I jazz them up by adding colorful twists to my homemade cookie dough. Those springtime colors give these treats an extra pop!

They’re not just adorable—they’re delicious, all thanks to that sweet, tangy lemon curd filling paired with the sugar cookie. Plus, they’re super easy to make!

Three dome-shaped pink mousse desserts, decorated with small white daisies, sit on a white plate—truly my favorite floral desserts—while a vase of white flowers, pink cookies, and a bowl of white chocolate blur in the background.

Mirror Glaze Mousse Cake

This individual-sized Mirror Glaze Mousse Cake is a delicious blend of strawberry-infused mousse and a shiny white chocolate glaze that sparkles like a mirror.

Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself to something sweet, this cake is a perfect choice.

A rectangular sheet cake with white frosting, decorated with yellow and orange buttercream flowers and green stems to resemble a floral bouquet—one of my favorite floral desserts. Small bowls and a yellow checkered napkin are nearby.

Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars

Discover how to make these unique Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars that are both delicious and visually stunning. The frosting is applied in a painterly fashion, transforming each bar into a beautiful floral scene.

You don’t need any artistic skills to create these simple yet gorgeous flower designs on your Sugar Cookie Bars.

A white frosted cake topped with large white and pink flowers sits on a white cake stand—one of my favorite floral desserts. In the background are glasses of pink drink and pastel striped straws on a light, gingham-patterned tablecloth.

Peony Cake

Since peonies are popping up in stores, let’s decorate a Peony Cake with Fresh Flowers. Peonies happen to be edible, so they are safe. But, before adding any flowers, always make sure the flowers are not poisonous.

Today, I’m going to share a technique in which the flowers have no contact with the cake.

More Desserts From My Friends

A white plate holds seven sugar cookies decorated with pink and peach icing in the shape of roses, each with green icing leaves, on a rustic white wooden surface—one of my favorite floral desserts.

Flower Cookies

There’s no better way to enjoy a day than with a batch of delicious and beautifully decorated spring flower cookies. Check out Leslie’s recipe for a sweet treat.

A cupcake topped with white frosting, green matcha powder, and small white flowers sits on an open wrapper—one of my favorite floral desserts. More cupcakes and delicate blooms are blurred in the background.

Latest Obsession – Cookie Press

A pink flower-shaped cookie cutter with a handle is shown next to four pink floral molds and a plate of pink flower-shaped cookies, perfect for creating my favorite floral desserts.
A white plate holds pink flower-shaped cookies, one of my favorite desserts, decorated with small white sugar pearls. The plate rests on a pink and white checkered napkin, beside a pink rose in a vase and a lit candle.

Cookie Press

I’m loving these cookie flower presses! They’re so easy to use — load the dough, press, and you’ve got the cutest little flower-shaped cookies in seconds. I was honestly surprised at how perfectly they hold their shape, and the designs are just adorable.

They’re such a fun way to add a sweet, homemade touch to any dessert table — and perfect for baby showers, or just a cozy baking day at home. If you haven’t tried them yet, they’re a total treat to use!

This Week’s Tip – Baking Spray

Two cans of Baker's Joy baking spray with blue caps. The label reads "The Original No-Stick Baking Spray with Flour." Perfect for your favorite spring cookies, bundt cakes, muffins, cupcakes, and brownies. Fat-free and ready to make baking a breeze!.
A plate of daisy-shaped sugar cookies with yellow centers, sprinkled with sugar, sits on a marble surface—one of my favorite floral desserts—surrounded by extra cookies and decorative flowers.

Baking Spray

I made a batch of sugar cookies using my cookie press, and after a bit of trial and error, I found that using a cookie spray with flour worked so much better for getting the dough to release cleanly. I had no idea that kind of spray even existed — it’s a total game changer!

If you’ve ever struggled with dough sticking in the press or not holding its shape, definitely give this spray a try. It made the whole process so much easier (and way less frustrating!). I’ll definitely be keeping a can in my pantry from now on.

My Amazon Finds – Floral Desserts

A hand holds three small, white, daisy-like flowers with yellow centers against a plain white background—reminiscent of my favorite floral desserts.
Seven white, five-petaled artificial flowers with small pearl-like beads at their centers, arranged on a plain white background, reminiscent of my favorite floral desserts.
A white, ruffled artificial flower with softly layered petals and delicate white stamens at the center, reminiscent of my favorite floral desserts, displayed on a plain white background.
A hand holding several small, white, five-petal flower decorations with yellow centers—reminiscent of my favorite floral desserts—with a few more scattered nearby.

Hey there!

If you’ve been wanting to try flower-themed baking this summer, I say go for it.

Grab some floral inspiration, mix up something sweet, and let your kitchen bloom.
