Why Summer is the Best Time to Cook

Summer is the season of fresh ingredients, outdoor cooking, and long, relaxing evenings.

I love how dinner becomes a time to unwind and enjoy the little moments. When I create new recipes, I always consider what will keep them simple, light, and flavorful.

A Personal Note from Janine

A cozy outdoor patio features a table covered with a floral-patterned cloth, topped with a bouquet of pink tulips in a vase. Four white cushioned chairs surround the table, all set on a striped rug. The summer decor is complemented by lush greenery, including a tall palm tree. Shop this look on Amazon!

Lately, life’s been moving at full speed for my husband and me, so we’ve started a little tradition: weekend batch cooking. I made a big pot of my go-to chili on Saturday, and on Sunday, he took over the kitchen with his famous beef stew (yes, we both have our specialties!). Between the two, we had a fridge full of delicious leftovers that carried us through the entire week.

No last-minute dinners, no “what should we eat tonight?”—just heat, serve, and relax. Honestly, it’s been such a simple shift, but it’s made our weeknights much easier and less stressful.

So I hope these dinner recipes inspire and help you plan your weekly meals!

Happy Saturday, and let’s hang out for a little bit on this spring weekend!

Cheers,
