Discover the sweet magic of My Favorite Floral Desserts that look just like blooms from the garden and taste even better! When it comes to flower desserts, floral desserts, flower cookies, and flower cakes, I’m always in. There’s just something magical about floral desserts for summer—they feel fresh, whimsical, and straight out of a fairy tale.

I love using a petal piping tip to swirl up roses or delicate blossoms.
I adore making desserts topped with pressed edible flowers or painted with floral royal icing designs.
They’re so elegant, and surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it.
These cookies feel like something you’d find at a boutique bakery, and they make the perfect gift or table centerpiece.

Fondant Flowers for a Finishing Touch
If I’m not working with buttercream, I almost always reach for fondant.
Rolling, shaping, and painting fondant flowers can be a peaceful and creative outlet, allowing for intricate detail.
I like to make a few batches of flowers ahead of time and keep them stored away for decorating future cakes or cupcakes.
It’s a fun way to get ahead on party prep and still keep things looking extra special.
Not Every Dessert Needs to Be Floral
Not every dessert needs flowers to shine!
But when I’m in the mood to bake something magical and dreamy, floral desserts are my go-to.
And even if you’re not into flower designs, you’ll still find inspiration in trying new flavors, playing with colors, or decorating in ways that make you happy.
A Personal Note from Janine

Hello there!
As some of you might remember, we used to live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and last July we packed up and drove cross-country to Florida. We left a lot behind and decided to start fresh, which was equal parts exciting and a little overwhelming. We rented a place for a few months, and then I found this sweet little home right on a lake… and we knew it was the one.
Our home is coming along and finally starting to feel like ours. We’ve painted, cleaned, and settled in, but I’ll be honest—it’s going to take some time (and a lot of projects!) to get it to where our California home was. And the backyard? Well, it’s all about that beautiful waterfront view… which means flowers are pretty minimal right now. And I have to say, I really miss stepping outside and picking fresh blooms from the garden.
I’m hoping to plant a few seeds this weekend and maybe put together some flower pots to get things started. But in the meantime, I’m leaning into all my floral-inspired baking—because adding flowers to desserts is the next best thing, right?
So let’s hang out for a bit and take a look at these fun, pretty baking projects together.
Have a lovely weekend, my sweet friends! 🌸
Cheers,

Latest Obsession – Cookie Press

They’re such a fun way to add a sweet, homemade touch to any dessert table — and perfect for baby showers, or just a cozy baking day at home. If you haven’t tried them yet, they’re a total treat to use!
This Week’s Tip – Baking Spray

I made a batch of sugar cookies using my cookie press, and after a bit of trial and error, I found that using a cookie spray with flour worked so much better for getting the dough to release cleanly. I had no idea that kind of spray even existed — it’s a total game changer!
If you’ve ever struggled with dough sticking in the press or not holding its shape, definitely give this spray a try. It made the whole process so much easier (and way less frustrating!). I’ll definitely be keeping a can in my pantry from now on.
