Instructions
Step 1 – Take Labels Off Jars
The Oui yogurt labels come off the jars quite nicely. After cleaning the jars, wipe a bit of alcohol over the outer glass where you plan to place your daisies.
Step 2 – Download the Flowers
You’ll have to buy the flower SVG file from the Etsy shop. Once you download the images, upload them into your Cricut Design Space. When placing the images into your new project, I made the images about 1 1/2 inches in height and width.
Next, cut out a 3″x3″ square piece of Cricut vinyl. Next place the vinyl in the top left corner of your cutting mat.
Step 3 – Cut Daisies
Turn on your Cricut Maker Machine. Attach your machine to your computer via the USB cable. Once they are communicating with each other, your design will prompt you to make the image.
Once you choose to continue, then it will ask you set up the correct blade. Next, choose to cut on vinyl. From this point, The Maker will prompt you with flashing buttons. Click on the flashing buttons and the first flashing button is the arrows. This wants you to click on it and insert and feed your mat. Then the “c” button will flash and press it to cut the image. After the machine is done cutting the arrow button will flash and once your tap on it the mat will eject from the machine.
After the decal is cut, remove the vinyl around the daisy.
Step 4 – Cut Out Transfer Tape
Cut out a square of transfer tape (paper) that is the size of the daisy. Take the backing off the transfer paper and apply the sticky part on top of the daisy. Make sure to cover the whole daisy. Press the transfer paper onto the daisy and then peel off the daisy from its paper backing.
Then place daisy on the glass jar. Press the image down to the glass so that it adheres well to the jar. Then pull off the transfer paper carefully making sure that the design sticks to the glass jar.
If you like to make a candle, then place the wick in the center of the bottom of the jar. At the top of the jar wrap the wick around a pencil and place the pencil on the rim of the jar.
Melt wax in a metal candle making pot and place the melted wax in the jar. Let cool and cut wick.
These mini French yogurt jars made into candles are a perfect gift to give someone for their birthday, graduation, anniversary, you name it!
Not only is this craft a perfect gift, but you can personalize this jar with different designs of different colors, and you can even put someone’s name on the vase to make it more special!
And guess what? There’s more. You can even add your own scent to this candle, such as a birthday cake scent, because who doesn’t love that smell?
I have always loved a good candle, even if it doesn’t smell. These are petite enough to place around your home without feeling crowded, and instead, you are creating a warm and inviting aroma in your favorite place!
