A Personal Note from Janine

sweet lemon recipes collection

When we moved to Florida, one of the first things I started dreaming about was planting a lemon tree. Living here in the Orlando area, it feels like the perfect place to grow our own lemons someday. It might have to wait a little while until we finish planning our outdoor space, but I can already imagine stepping outside and picking fresh lemons for all kinds of sweet lemon recipes.

The good news is we’re finally settled in. The boxes are unpacked, and our new home is slowly starting to feel cozy and inviting. The funny part is that our kitchen is tiny… like really tiny. But that’s not going to stop me from baking! I have big plans to keep creating sweet lemon desserts and other favorite recipes to share here on the blog.

And of course, my husband is always more than happy to be the official taste tester when these lemon sweet treats come fresh out of the oven. Someone has to do it, right?

So today I’m excited to share a collection of my favorite sweet lemon recipes. If you love bright citrus flavors and cheerful desserts as much as I do, these lemon sweet treats are such a fun way to add a little sunshine to your baking. 🍋

Hang out with me today, sip a refreshing lemon drink, and let’s chat for a bit! Your tips and stories are always welcome; we can make the most of this Saturday together.

Cheers,

Recipe for Lemon Lush Cake

This Recipe for Lemon Lush Dessert is a must-try for anyone who loves the bright and zesty flavors of lemon paired with creamy, indulgent layers. Unlike traditional lemon and Cool Whip desserts, this lemon lush recipe features real whipped cream for a more decadent, homemade touch. The dessert starts with a buttery, flour-and-nut crust, providing the perfect foundation for the creamy layers. A smooth blend of cream cheese and whipped cream forms the middle layer, followed by a tangy lemon pudding that adds a refreshing burst of flavor. The final touch is a layer of whipped cream topped with chopped nuts, creating a show-stopping layered lemon dessert that’s as beautiful as it is delicious.

This Week’s Tip – Lemons as a Hand and Nail Cleaner

Lemon Hand and Nail Cleaner

Do you know that you can use lemons to help clean dirt from under your fingernails? The acidity of the lemon juice acts as a natural cleanser.

Growing up, my grandma was an avid gardener, and I have fond memories of her garden filled with beautiful flowers. After a day of gardening, her hands and nails would be covered in dirt. She would grab a lemon, slice it in half, and run her nails through the flesh of the lemon. She would then proudly show me her clean, spotless nails!

If you like there is another way you can clean your hands and nails with lemon juice.

  1. Prepare a Lemon Soak: Mix the juice of one lemon with a cup of warm water in a small bowl.
  2. Soak Your Fingernails: Dip your fingers in the mixture and soak for about 5-10 minutes.
  3. Scrub: Use a soft nail brush or an old toothbrush to gently scrub under your nails.
  4. Rinse and Moisturize: Rinse your hands with warm water and apply a moisturizer to keep your skin from drying out.
