Here are some Tried and True Recipes that totally won over our readers this year. We’ve got everything you could crave, from crunchy salads to the yummiest cakes – and everything in between. Sharpen your culinary skills and have some fun in the kitchen!

Cooking doesn’t have to be a chore at all! Just grab your favorite ingredients, crank up some good music, and suddenly, it’s a whole lot of fun in the kitchen.

Last year, I decided to go big and shared a whole lot of recipes. I thought, ‘Hey, let’s mix in some family favorites as well,’ and boy, did you all love it! My website traffic doubled, maybe even tripled. It’s clear as day: you all love those recipes!

Baking and cooking are my absolute passions, so I’m thrilled to share them with you here. But hey, whether you’re just starting out or you’re a seasoned chef, there’s something in this list of tried and true recipes for everyone.

What’s great about these recipes is that not only have I given them a go, but so have my readers. I really hope you’ll enjoy them just as much as we do!

Welcome back if you’re here from My 100 Year Old Home or Thistlewood. We are sharing our top ten posts for 2023.

And like my previous post from this week, I’ll start at number ten and work my way to the most popular recipe.

Tried and True Recipes

Not only are these my readers favorite recipes but also my family’s as well.

#10 – Jazz Up Canned Cranberry Sauce Recipe

If you need a simple and quick Canned Cranberry Sauce Recipe, then look no further. Canned cranberry sauce never tasted this amazing with just a few additional ingredients, and it’s shocking how delicious this hack version tastes with a few yummy ingredients. The beauty of this recipe is you can make it year round!

#9 – Simple Punch Recipe for Mother’s Day

Who doesn’t love a Simple Punch Recipe for Mother’s Day? Well, I thought I would share a sweet and delicious fruit drink that my husband made when we first got married. I love that it is good either with or without alcohol, it is up to you which version you prefer.

#8 – Air Fryer Churros

Make these easy, healthy, and homemade Air Fryer Churros. Make the churros in the air fryer, then roll them in a cinnamon sugar topping. These are delicious alternatives to the traditional deep-fried churros recipe.

#7 – The Best Lemon Sour Cream Pie

This is the Best Lemon Sour Cream Pie recipe. This lemon pie has a rich, smooth lemon flavor similar to my favorite English Lemon Curd recipe. Of course, this homemade pie has sour cream, which mellows the sweetness and creates a luscious taste.

#6 – Warm Brussel Sprout Salad

This Warm Brussel Sprout Salad recipe is seriously delicious! It’s got brussels sprouts, creamy avocado, orzo pasta, a drizzle of maple syrup, a dash of cognac, and, the best part, candied bacon. These flavors come together so perfectly. Whether you want a side dish or a warm salad, this one’s a keeper!

#5 – The Best Crunchy Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookie

I want to shout it from every rooftop that I finally have the Best Crunchy, Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. If you enjoy a thick, crispy chocolate chip cookie, then this recipe is perfect for you. Every bite guarantees an explosion of chocolate chips accompanied by a satisfying crunch. This recipe stands out from the rest as it produces exceptionally hard chocolate chip cookies. It’s a cookie for those who truly adore thick and crunchy cookies.

#4 – Crinkle Cake (with Phyllo Dough)

This delightful Crinkle Cake with Phyllo Dough is a simple culinary masterpiece that’s all the rage in the baking community. Experience this delicious dessert, a blend of crispy, flaky layers of phyllo dough with the sweet, indulgent flavors of crinkle cake, creating a dessert that’s not just delicious but also creamy with an egg custard.

#3 – Caramel Chex Mix Recipe

This Caramel Chex Mix Recipe has been a family favorite for a long time. Imagine a delicious mix of caramel popcorn, Corn Chex, peanuts, and crunchy chow mein noodles, all generously coated in a sweet, sugary caramel sauce. It’s a treat that combines different textures and flavors for a truly irresistible snack.

#2 – Easy Chicken in Electric Skillet Recipe

I stumbled upon this Easy Chicken in Electric Skillet Recipe while rushing to make dinner for my husband. It’s a chicken recipe that’s tender and moist with a rich gravy sauce. You can use chicken breasts or boneless chicken thighs for this recipe.

#1 – Strawberry Mochi Recipe

Here’s my quick and easy Strawberry Mochi Recipe that uses sweet rice flour and fresh strawberries. Pop the mochiko batter in the microwave to make the perfect mochi, and wrap the layer around a strawberry. Yes, it’s that easy to make. There is no bean mixture or ice cream, making it a simpler recipe.
