Explore this collection of Creative Christmas Desserts that will dazzle your holiday table. From festive cakes to unique cookies, these fun desserts are sure to spread cheer!

I can’t wait to dive into some holiday baking! I’ve whipped up a few things already, but there’s a whole bunch more on my to-bake list for the next couple of weeks. Check out this collection – it’s packed with ideas to spark some holiday magic in your kitchen!

Saturday Chitchat with Janine – Volume 146

Hey everyone, just gotta say, I’m a huge fan of Julia Child and her incredible range of recipes. What I admire most about her is that she never sweated the small stuff, especially failure. She just went for it in the kitchen and served up whatever she made with confidence. Absolutely unflappable!

So, to all the newbie bakers out there feeling a bit nervous – just give it a go! Remember, it’s all about trying. And hey, here’s an awesome quote from Julia herself:

“No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.”

This weekend, I’m going to bake a jelly roll cake. I’ve been wanting to make a Yule Log, and I’m finally going for it!

Personal Note from Janine

Our holiday shopping is nearly wrapped up. How about you? Are you getting into the holiday swing of things?

I’ll be pretty tied up in the kitchen from now until Christmas. Oh, the memories of making cookies as a kid! Imagine a kitchen full of five kids, each elbow-deep in sugar cookie dough. Mom was a champ, never sweating the mess.

Can’t wait to bake with my daughter once she’s back from college. She’s probably got a whole list of treats she wants to try baking.

In today’s Saturday Chitchat, I’m throwing in a couple of my tasty Christmas dessert ideas.

Also, a little teaser for you – I’ve got a project in the works that I’ll share a sneak peel below.

So, why don’t you grab a cup of something warm, kick back, and let’s dive into some holiday chitchat!

Cheers,

STRAWBERRY MOCHI RECIPE

Here’s my quick and easy Strawberry Mochi Recipe that uses sweet rice flour and fresh strawberries. Pop the mochiko batter in the microwave to make the perfect mochi, and wrap the layer around a strawberry. Yes, it’s that easy to make. There is no bean mixture or ice cream, making it a simpler recipe.

Mochi is one of my favorite desserts; adding fresh strawberries creates a different dessert. You can add the sweet red bean filling if you want, but this recipe is fine without it.

This Week’s Tip – Cool Oven Cleaner

EASY OVEN CLEANER

Have you heard how baking soda and boiling water will magically clean a oven glass door?

It’s trending on Instagram. And of course, I had to give it try.

So, here’s how you clean the glass on the inside of your oven door. Cover the whole glass with baking soda then add some boiling water to cover the baking soda.

I made a paste with the water and baking soda mixture.

Then let it sit for about 40 minutes.

Once it’s soaked in, take some tin foil and ball it up and begin scrubbing the glass.

I thought the tin foil was going to scrape the glass, so I did a little test spot. Once I saw it didn’t scrat the glass, I cleaned the all the glass.

If you look at the photo, the bottom portion is the part I tested and it came out so clean!

Give it a try and do a little spot test and see how it works.

Latest Obsession – A Sneak Peek Recipe

CHEESEBALL SNOWMAN

I’m obsessed with this fun viral recipe. So, I’m sharing this cute snowman over on my Instagram account. And I thought I would share the basic recipe for the cheese dip.

  • 24 ounces of Cream Cheese (room temp)
  • 3 tbs Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 tbs Mozarella Cheese
  • 2 tbs Granulated California Garlic (Costco Brand that is pure garlic without salt)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Peppercorns
  • a Carrot
  • Pretzel Sticks
  • Provolone Cheese Slice for mittens

Add all the ingredients together and form three balls, one big one, and one slighly smaller one, and finally a small one for the head.

Roll in paremesean cheese and place the largest ball on a plate, followed by the slightly smaller cheese ball. Then top with the smallest one. Decorate the face with the peppercorns as the eyes and mouth. Place a small piece of carrot for the nose.

Place pretzels for the arms and a cut out cheese mitten and hat.

Serve and eat immediately. The cheese will collapse after a bit, so don’t make this too much before serviing.
