Summer is here, and these are my Favorite Summer Cookies to bake when the weather is warm and the days are sweet.  Light, fruity, and fun—these cookies are perfect for every summer occasion! When it comes to summer recipes, there’s nothing quite like a batch of freshly baked cookies. Whether you’re hosting a backyard BBQ, heading to a beach picnic, or just enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon, summer cookies always hit the spot. These sweet treats are not just tasty—they’re light, refreshing, and a lot of fun to make. In this post, I’m sharing all about my favorite summer cookies, perfect cookie recipes for summer, and why these summer dessert recipes deserve a permanent place in your baking lineup.

A collage of four images featuring pastel-colored Easter cookies, including frosted rounds, bunny and flower-shaped sugar cookies, and stacked sandwich cookies—perfect as favorite summer cookies for any celebration.

I find myself drawn to these kinds of cookies because they feel like a sweet, cool breeze during hot afternoons.

Saturday Chitchat with Janine – Volume 213

My Go-To Summer Cookie Favorites

One of my all-time favorite summer cookies is a classic lemon sugar cookie—soft, chewy, and just the right amount of tangy.

I also love baking white chocolate raspberry cookies, which combine creamy sweetness with tart berry flavors.

When I’m in a tropical mood, I go for pineapple coconut cookies that feel like a mini vacation in every bite. These are the kinds of cookie recipes for summer that make baking fun and sharing even better.

Baking Memories in the Kitchen

Summer baking always feels a little more laid back to me.

I’ll throw on some music, open the windows, and whip up a batch of something sweet with my daughter. Cookies are the easiest way to turn a regular day into something special. They come together quickly, and the whole kitchen ends up smelling amazing.

Plus, cookies are easy to pack and share—whether it’s for a neighbor, a family road trip, or a poolside snack.

Cookies That Go Beyond the Season

While these may be labeled as summer cookies, I’d be lying if I said I only made them during the summer.

Some of my favorite summer cookie recipes sneak into my baking year-round because they’re just too good not to. And honestly, nothing brings a bit of sunshine into a rainy day quite like a lemon cookie or a bite of coconut bliss.

Summer flavors have a way of lifting your spirits, even if it’s not technically summer anymore!

A Sweet Ending to Any Summer Day

Cookies for summer are more than just dessert—they’re memories in the making.

Whether you love fruity flavors, tropical twists, or light and bright citrus notes, there’s a summer cookie out there for you.

A Personal Note from Janine

A festive cookie topped with white frosting, decorated with small white candy pearls, a snowman face, and tiny candy mittens and hat in red, green, and white colors, placed on a cooling rack.

I’ve always been a cookie girl. They’re the perfect little treat—not too big, not too small. I usually set a few aside to enjoy and pop the rest in the freezer so I’m not tempted to eat the whole batch in one sitting. And honestly? I don’t even mind grabbing one straight from the freezer. Cold cookies still hit the spot!

I’ll let you in on a little secret… I’m slowly building a collection of holiday cookie recipes, so when fall rolls around, I’ll be ahead of the dessert game. That means I’ll be sharing a new cookie recipe with you each month—kind of like a sweet little countdown to the holidays.

So stay tuned and check back often—who knows which cookie will capture my heart next? In the meantime, enjoy this weekend’s Saturday Chitchat packed with fun, delicious cookie recipes! 🍪💕

And yep, you heard that right—I’m already thinking about the holidays… and it’s only spring! Christmas might be months away, but a little early planning never hurt anyone, right? 😉

Cheers,
