Explore these Flower Garden Decor Ideas and more to learn how to grow, maintain, and care for gorgeous blooms and greens! Today, I wanted to discuss one of my favorite things: flower garden decor. Now, let’s explore some decor ideas that enchant your flower garden. I could talk about this for hours, honestly. So, I think it’s time to share some of the best tips and tricks for your gardens and flower spaces.

Saturday Chitchat with Janine

So, if you’re considering starting a garden or adding to your existing one, go for it.

Whether it’s a sprawling yard or a small balcony – there’s always room for a little greenery!

A Personal Note from Janine

A tall, white planter with green foliage and pink flowers sits on a wooden deck near a sandy beach and calm water—perfect inspiration for flower garden decor ideas and more, surrounded by trees and sunshine in the background.

Happy Saturday, my friends!

Life here in Florida still feels a little surreal. We traded in our old backyard for a lake view, and now the water is basically our backyard. It’s beautiful… and somehow, even with a smaller garden, we still end up with piles of yard clippings every week. I guess that’s just part of bringing a neglected space back to life—lots of pruning, weeding, and a little bit of patience.

This spring, I couldn’t wait to get a few flowers in the ground. Now I’m finally starting to see blooms from my zinnias and roses, and it makes me so happy. There’s just something about having fresh flowers growing nearby that lifts your mood in the best way.

We’ve also been slowly fixing up our deck, and it’s becoming one of my favorite spots. On those cooler mornings, we sit outside with breakfast and just soak it all in. It feels simple and peaceful—my favorite kind of start to the day. I’ll have to share more of that space with you soon, especially the planters and chairs!

And a little fun update… yesterday was my birthday, so today we’re celebrating with lunch at The Cake Bake Shop. I can’t wait—the food is always so good, and the decor (and those cakes!) are just over-the-top in the best way.

Hope you have something special planned this Memorial Day weekend too! 💛

Pruning Endless Summer Hydrangeas

Keeping them healthy and looking good is essential when it comes to Pruning Endless Summer Hydrangeas. Let’s dive into what you need to know when it’s time to prune these gorgeous perennials.

Drip Irrigation for Plants in Pots

Drip Irrigation is the way to go for plants in pots. Once you set up your whole system, you won’t have to worry about your hanging plants. If you have everything set in your sprinkler system, your plants will be watered without you having to do anything.

Lady Banks Rose (Best Climbing Rose)

Lady Banks Rose is a vigorous climbing rose. It comes in white and yellow and has a slightly sweet scent. It is a thornless rose that is easy to care for. Prune it to train it to grow up in arbors, along a fence, or most anything.

Planter Markers for Gardens

Planter Markers for Gardens are like little lifesavers for veggie and herb gardens, especially if you’re into cooking. Being able to tell your oregano from your thyme is a big deal in our kitchen. My husband’s always mixing them up. But now, with these markers, he’ll finally be able to gather the right herbs for his cooking projects.

A heart-shaped beaded ornament sits among pink and white flowers in a basket, with green foliage blurred in the background—my favorite summer decor to make. Text at the bottom reads "Happy Happy Nester.

Beaded Garden Stakes DIY

Looking for a fun and simple garden stakes DIY project? These adorable Beaded Garden Stakes DIY are the perfect way to add a pop of color and personality to your garden! Best of all, they’re incredibly easy to make with just three basic supplies: wire, colorful beads, and a wire cutter tool. Whether you’re sprucing up your outdoor planters or adding charm to your vegetable beds, these handmade garden stakes are a quick and creative project that make perfect gifts for your gardening friends!

Watering Potted Plants While Away

Watering Potted Plants While Away can be a bit challenging. I came across these fantastic glass bulbs that you fill with water, and they gradually water your plants. It’s a simple self-watering system that simplifies plant care and removes the guesswork from the process.

Container Gardening Ideas

My post for this beautiful day in May is Container Gardening Ideas. Yes, summer is around the corner, and now is the time to get ready for planting your pretty containers. Well, I have quite a few simple flower pots around our patios and so here is a peek into our planters.

Simple Garden Plan for Spring

Select a sunny spot with well-drained soil for a simple spring garden plan. Prepare the soil by tilling and adding compost for nutrients. Plant various vegetables like tomatoes, lettuce, and carrots alongside colorful flowers. Arrange taller plants and much more!

This Week’s Tip – Sun Sail

Sun Sail

Hydrangeas thrive in the shade (except for Limelight Hydrangeas), so our hydrangea plants and blossoms tend to wilt on sunny summer days.

My husband installed a white sun sail over our hydrangeas a few summers ago, providing them with much-needed shade. Since then, we haven’t had to worry about them wilting anymore.

If your hydrangeas are in a sunny spot in your garden, consider installing an inexpensive sun sails to protect them!

Latest Obsession – Solar Lights

A solar-powered garden light illuminates a pathway lined with blooming purple flowers and greenery at night. The light is mounted on a black post, casting a gentle glow on the surrounding plants. The scene is serene and softly lit, showcasing exquisite flower garden decor ideas.

Solar Lights

These adorable bee lights are solar-powered, and I’m absolutely crazy about them! Solar garden lights require no electricity or switches, making them incredibly convenient.

I decorated my rose bush with these cute bee lights, which are so cute when they twinkle at night. I also bought some solar landscaping lights that look similar to the traditional electric ones. The advancements in solar technology are awesome. While walking through our neighborhood, I noticed solar spotlights at our country club, and now I’m excited to get some for our front yard.

With all these cool tech advancements, now everyone can enjoy landscaping lights, even if they don’t have outdoor electricity!
