A Personal Note from Janine
Did you have a nice Valentine’s Day?
So, we had a chill one and then went out the next day with a dinner out in wine country. My husband and I just needed a break from work. It was about unwinding and eating a delicious French dinner at Bistro Jaunty in Napa.
This week? Crazy busy. I’ve been juggling a bunch of projects. One was this beautiful gold leaf egg wreath; I even made a tutorial showing how to do it with wooden eggs. And in between all that, I was working on a sponsored post for Walmart, baking the most adorable peep sugar cookies you’ve ever seen.
But despite the madness, I’m loving every bit of spring! I have many exciting projects lined up and am excited to share them with you all.
Seriously though, why aren’t there more hours in a day? Or better yet, more days in the week? If only I could function on less sleep, life would be perfect!
As I’m sitting down to write this post, I’ve got my cup of tea in hand. So, grab yourself a comfy chair and a tasty drink, and let’s hang out!
Cheers,

This Week’s Tip – Gold Leafing
I attempted goldleafing a while back and got pretty frustrated. However, I was determined to conquer the best technique on my latest gold leaf Easter eggs.
There are a few key things to do when goldleafing.
- Wear disposable gloves! This is a must. The adhesive is so sticky, and it took a lot of hand cleaning to get a tiny bit off!
- Allow for the adhesive to set for 30 minutes. This step really makes a difference in how well the gold leaf sheets cover the eggs.
- When attaching the fragile gold leaf sheets to the eggs, grab the paper filler that is on top of the sheets. This allows the gold leaf to stick to the egg, not your gloves.
- Just know that the gold leaf will stick to anything it touches.
