Brown Butter Sugar Cookies with Chocolate Ganache is an irresistible recipe. I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to baking, but about ten years ago I found this great recipe from Gourmet Magazine and it was all about brown butter. This cookie is delicate and the flavor is incredible. The original recipe calls for fruit preserves between the cookies and this is where I modified it with a chocolate center.
These adorable Hanging Mug Topper Cookies are the easiest to make. Unlike the complicated mini gingerbread houses mug huggers, these cutout sugar cookies don’t require building a house. Also, the cookie cutters sit perfectly on the coffee mug’s rim since the cutter’s physics are excellent.

THE BEST PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
With this delightful cookie recipe from KariAnne at Thistlewood Farms, you’re in for a real treat. It’s a special one from her mom’s kitchen, featuring cookies that are amazingly soft and chewy in the middle with a crisp, sugary edge.
It sure sounds like the perfect combination for a delicious treat.
This Week’s Tip – Pastry Cutter
I’ve got this homemade pastry cutter that my grandpa made, and it’s just fantastic. I just recently began using it. The other night, while making breadsticks, I needed something to cut the dough in a straight line. So, I rummaged through my kitchen drawer and decided to try it.
It worked like a charm! I ended up with the straightest lines, and the dough was smoothly cut. The best part was that, unlike with a knife, the dough didn’t drag, which meant my breadsticks came out perfectly straight.
I’m officially on the pastry cutter bandwagon now! They are a game changer in the baking world.
Latest Obsession – Pop Tart Project!
POP TART PROJECT
I can’t even remember the last time I bought Pop-Tarts, but there I was the other day at the grocery store, picking them up. It’s incredible how many different flavors they have now, all those sugary breakfast treats lined up on the shelf.
Now, I’m not planning on eating them. Instead, I’ve got this fun idea to make gingerbread houses out of them. This weekend will be about that project, and I look forward to sharing the results with you after the holidays.
Talk about doing things at the last minute, right? At this rate, they are more like Spring Gingerbread houses!
So, stay tuned for how they turn out!
