If you’re ready to make your home feel extra cozy and festive this season, be sure to explore My Favorite Christmas Decor for inspiration! There’s something extra special about decorating for Christmas, and I swear I look forward to it every single year. Now that we’re right in the middle of the month, it feels like the perfect time to finalize your tree, your mantel, those cozy corners, and any other space you’ve decided to decorate. I’ve shared 5+ holiday looks on the blog already, each one designed to help you make your home feel warm, joyful, and uniquely yours. Today, I’m diving into my favorite Christmas decor pieces and how I love mixing different styles to create that festive magic. One thing I always remind people is that their holiday decor can be anything you want it to be.

A collage of four images displays my favorite Christmas decor: elegantly decorated trees in light, neutral living rooms, adorned with white and gold ornaments, garlands, wrapped presents, and cozy holiday accents.

Every year, I tweak little things, and it always surprises me how small changes can make the whole room feel new.

Whether it’s adding layered garlands, swapping out ribbons, or styling your shelves with tiny winter moments, mixing decor can help create a look that feels intentional and personal.

Decor Favorites That Always Make the Cut

Even as my style evolves, a few favorite Christmas decor pieces always make their way out of storage.

I also love a beautifully decorated mantel because it instantly becomes the heart of the room—especially when stockings are hung and greenery drapes across the edge.

These simple touches add so much charm and blend effortlessly into any holiday theme.

Making Your Space Feel Special With 5+ Holiday Looks

If you’ve been needing inspiration, the blog is filled with 5+ holiday looks that range from classic to whimsical to neutral and elegant.

Each look is meant to spark ideas and help you create a holiday home that feels just right for you.

Whether you’re starting fresh or adding decor to what you already own, I love sharing new ways to layer pieces, style your tree, or give your entryway a festive glow.

The beauty of Christmas decor is that it doesn’t have to be complicated—it just has to feel good.

Enjoy the Holiday Magic

As we settle into the heart of the season, remember to enjoy the moment.

Decorating isn’t just about making things look pretty—it’s about creating a space full of warmth, joy, and memories.

A Personal Note from Janine

A slim, gold Christmas tree—my favorite Christmas decor—adorned with white and pastel ornaments stands in a wicker basket next to a bright window and cream-colored cabinets in a cozy, light-filled living room.

Good Morning!

It’s been quite a month over here, and we ended it by buying a lake house here in Florida. For a while, we thought we might end up buying the rental we’ve been living in, which we truly love. Our Christmas tree in the photo above was taken there, and it’s been such a cozy place for us. But in the end, our hearts were set on finding a home on a lake—and we’re so happy it all worked out.

That said, there’s definitely a long road ahead to get this new place into shape. As my husband likes to joke, it’s “a very expensive cabin on a beautiful lake.” 😂 Remodeling will have to happen slowly, when we have a little extra money to put toward it. For now, the plan is to move all our stuff over and start settling into our second home in the last six months—which still feels a little unreal.

It’s been such a whirlwind, and I truly hope your lives aren’t quite as crazy as ours right now!

Enjoy your time in your wonderful homes and happy holidays!

Cheers,

Modern Farmhouse Christmas Tree

Vintage Ornament Wreath

This project is a simpler version of How to Make a Vintage Ornament Wreath. Over the years, I made an ornament wreath and wasn’t too excited to sacrifice my precious ornaments.

So, I came up with a new way to attach them without glue.

Also, the fantastic thing about this wreath is that you can change the ornaments each year to match your holiday decor!

A festive front porch with a red door decorated with a wreath, surrounded by garland and pinecones—my favorite Christmas decor. Poinsettias, lanterns, candles, and small lit Christmas trees welcome you, while inside, a glowing tree can be seen.

Cottage Christmas Decor

Our Northern California home is a sprawling ranch with low ceilings and a cozy vibe. So, it’s natural to style our holiday decor with a Cottage Christmas Decor theme. Here are some ideas on how to get this look for your home.

I hope you enjoy this night tour of our cozy holiday home!

Decorating Like the Movie Elf

I’m so into the Christmas movie Elf, and as most of you know, I’m obsessed with everything paper.

So, it made sense this year that I try Decorating Like the Movie Elf.

Latest Obsession – Holiday Fragrances

Two brown fragrance refill bottles labeled "Cinnamon Cider" with white caps are placed side by side. White and gold text is printed on the front of each bottle, making them perfect for my favorite Christmas decor displays.

Home Fragrances

I’m not one to fill my home with overpowering fragrances, but I decided to try the Pura system and I’ve really been enjoying it. I love that their scents are clean and thoughtfully made, without acetaldehyde, dichlorobenzene, formaldehyde, parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, or animal testing—something that really mattered to me.

The Cinnamon Cider scent has been especially lovely for the holidays—warm, cozy, and not overwhelming. I also love that I can control the intensity and schedule right from an app on my phone, turning it off in the evenings so it only runs during our prime time hours and helps the fragrance last longer.

This Week’s Tip – Photo Ornaments

A framed photo of a small, fluffy dog sits on red and white striped fabric—my favorite Christmas decor—alongside a gray knitted item and festive pine branches.

Photo Ornaments

I absolutely love these uniquely shaped glass frames—they’re such a fun twist on a traditional photo frame. I added a photo of our sweet pup, Maisy, and it fit perfectly using a print I picked up at CVS. It was such an easy project, but it feels really special.

I love the idea of creating one every year to capture a moment in time. They’re perfect for remembering your kids, grandkids, and beloved pets, and they make such meaningful keepsakes to display or even give as gifts.

My Amazon Finds – Christmas Decor

Three golden metal bells of varying sizes hang from rustic rope loops against a plain white background—my favorite Christmas decor for adding timeless charm and festive spirit.
A tall artificial Christmas tree with snow-frosted branches and warm white lights, standing on a black metal stand against a white background—my favorite Christmas decor for creating a festive atmosphere.
A bright red velvet bow—my favorite Christmas decor—with two long trailing ribbons hanging down, displayed on a plain white background.
A white toy mouse wearing a red and green plaid scarf stands upright, holding two ski poles and wearing small skis on its feet—my favorite Christmas decor for adding whimsical charm to any holiday display.
