September is here, and I don’t know about you, but my local grocery stores are loaded with pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, and colors.

I already have new ideas up my sleeve and ones posted on the blog already!

Below you’ll find the most recent and favorite crafts and decorations using pumpkins.

Saturday Chitchat with Janine – Volume 83

Howdy!

Welcome to fall at the Waite house! Yes, I know. I’m crazy. It’s only September, and I’m decorating for fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving.

But! As a blogger, I have to be ahead of the seasons. So, here I am, creating and crafting away for you!

I adore pumpkins. I believe they bring a fun vibe to your decor, so browse below to find decor inspiration for the following couple of holidays.

Personal Note from Janine

Our weather this week has set some record temperatures. It’s sweltering here in Northern California.

What is the weather like where you live?

I can’t wait for it to feel more like fall, with crisp sunny days that are good for sweater weather.

But, in the meantime, it is full steam ahead for fall. Pumpkins are in our stores, and fall decor is popping up everywhere. I’m excited to embrace a new season.

My family needs a little distraction these days since my husband’s father is not in the best of health. I’m not sure that he’ll be around next week. Once my husband returns from his business trip abroad, we will head to Vermont to be with his family.

Please think of us this month as we deal with this sad situation.

Sorry to burden you with our heartbreaking news.

On a positive note, I hope you’re having a lovely weekend and enjoying some fabulous fall festivities.

Hug your family, and have a wonderful Saturday!

Cheers,

This Week’s Tip – Pumpkin Carving Tools

Good Pumpkin Carving Tools Make a Huge Difference!

My friend Marci introduced me to pumpkin carving tools. Before using her specialized carving knives, I would struggle with my kitchen knives.

Well, I learned that buying good strong pumpkin knives makes a difference. You can make almost any shape with these knives when carving with them.

The knives should be solid and sturdy and able to cut with twists and turns.

If you’re serious about creating some fun jack-o-lanterns this year, get ahold of these essential pumpkin carving tools!

Latest Obsession – Cute Felt Mice

cute halloween mouse

I Adore These Cute Mice

Last year, I bought this mouse at Anthropologie. His expression is so adorable that I had to buy him the minute I spied him in the store.

Unbeknownst to me, there is a whole line of them, and our local store carries them. So, the other day when I saw a whole basketful of them, I picked up two more for my Halloween decor.

The stores no longer carry this exact mouse, but here is a link to one holding a pumpkin!

I have to say that they make me smile and that’s a good thing!

Hello!

Now that was a lot of pumpkins 🙂 Hopefully, you found something to make or buy to bring fall into your home.

I’m just getting started with my ideas, so stay tuned on the blog AND my Instagram for more updates!

I share a lot of behind-the-scenes footage on my stories that you don’t want to miss 😉

Have a great weekend, everyone!
