Saturday Chitchat with Janine – Volume 72

Happy Saturday,

We are finally back from our trip, and it feels good to be home. Let’s say the trip didn’t go 100% according to the plan, but we had a fun time!

As I said, it feels good to be back in the Bay Area. Before leaving, I was scrambling around the kitchen day and night, trying to perfect these dessert recipes.

Well, I succeeded.

This blog post is proof that I have been working on new recipes for the summer. So, come on and check them out before summer is gone!

Personal Note from Janine

We just took a trip down to Southern California,, and we were supposed to visit Disneyland with the whole family. We had a snafu in plans since our son tested positive for covid. So unfortunately our trip quickly changed into another trip.

Our son stayed at his apartment at school while we took our trip without him. We decided to reschedule the trip for later when he could join us.

So, instead of a Disney trip, we visited colleges for our dweren’t visited a ton of beaches.hadn’trt Beach was gorgeous,, and we enjoyedidn’tdinner on the beach. I think we were the only ones that weren’t in swimsuits. You see,, we hadn’t planned to visit the beach, so we didn’t come prepared.

Nonetheless, it was a relaxing trip and nice visiting a different part of California was nice.

We are back home and hanging out and enjoWeek’sur comfy home. After a trip, we always wonder why we ever leave our home.

Seriously, there is no place like home.

Cheers,

Latest Obsession – Double Chocolate Bread I’veing

Brennan’s Double Chocolate Bread Pudding

Over the weekend, we visited Downtown Disneyland and ate the Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen. We had our favorite Salmon dish and shared the Double Chocolate Bread Pudding on the menu.

Oh my goodness, this dessert was the perfect amount of chocolate and sweetness. My husband and I enjoyed nibbling on it then our daughter took over the whole dessert. I was a bit perplexed since she wouldn’t have a dessert! 🙂

Oh well, now I’m going to try and recreate that whole dinner. I’m off to find his recipe for Collard greens. It was delicious, and beyond anything, I’ve ever eaten!

Thanks so much for joining me this special holiday weekend. Enjoy tomorrow’s Father’s Day celebration.

Take care and Happy Saturday!
